[At my house]
"You a punk man. You gone sneak me." He said still on the ground.
"You're still on the ground......" John said.
"Come in, J." I said as I pulled her in.
We walked in and sat on the couch.
"Who is that?" J asked.
"A friend, but what are you doing with him? Were you lying the other day?" I said concerned.
"No! I wasn't with him. He found me, pulled me into the car, and brought me here. I have no idea what's going on. We didn't even talk in the car.
It was so strange. He looked so mad." We both shared confused looks.
"Um, are you staying here?" I asked.
"I don't have to.....I guess....I don't know." She raised her eyebrows in confusion.
"You need to stay here. Don't leave," her ex said.
His face was still bleeding, and because of my history with him, I didn't bother to get him ice.
"Why?" I asked.
"Just stay at a hotel if you're not going to stay here."
"WHY?" I yelled.
"SHE'S NOT SAFE. I HIRED SOMEONE TO FIND HER AND KIDNAP HER. IF I KNOW WHERE SHE IS, HE DOES TOO," he screamed. "I-I'm sorry. I don't think straight."
"Ya think?" I said.
"She can't stay here. She needs to go to a hotel." John said.
We all looked at him.
"If they found out where she stays, they can find out where her friends stay." He spoke.
He had a point. I would be okay because they aren't looking for me. She should leave for a while.
"Well, did you call off the job?" I asked.
"I tried. He wouldn't listen."
"Well, you're gonna try harder while she stays at a hotel. You WILL fix this." I said.
He just looked down. Its like he was a completely different person from the abusive part.
"C'mon J. Marriott SpringHill isn't far from here." I got up.
[At the hotel]
I was sitting on her bed eating the hotels ice chips. The car ride wasn't like I was sitting with one of my best friends. It was awkward. Everything that had happened was kind of a blur. I knew she was scared.
I broke the silence, "Are you gonna be okay here?"
"Somebody is after me, and you're asking me if I'm going to be okay?" She responded.
I completely understood her fustration. At least when my life is at stake its because of me. Its my own decision. He hired someone without her consent and without thinking of whats in her best interest. I figured I should leave because she looked like she needed some alone time, some time to think. I would tell her about all my crazy adventures, but it wasn't the time.
I stood up, "Call me, if you need anything. Anything at all."
"Okay," she said as she looked down.
I hugged her tight and left. I was walking down the hallway to get to the elevator. I heard screams. Me being me, I went to go see what was going on. It was a crowd on the other side of the hotel. I assumed thats where all the ruckus was coming from. I ran over and saw people in the doorway. I moved them out the way and saw people at the window. Did someone fall out the window? I walked over and it was a window washer. The platform he was on, broke. The ropes were broken and you could see his body laid out on someone's balcony. Thank God he didn't hit the ground or else he'd be dead. I took the stairs down to that persons balcony. The door was open and the woman was freaking out. She was an older lady. She had brown hair and looked like she was on a business trip.
