I was back at the studio working on a painting. I had on a white tshirt and sweats. I loved my job. This was bliss. The sweet toxic smell of oil paint and the soft sound of a paintbrush. My love for this job may be so big solely because its new, but its still love. I'm supposed to be meeting Charlotte later to catch up on things. I haven't seen her in a while. I tilted my head to the side to see exactly what I was painting. I kind of just painted a variations of blues in a spiral. It looked pretty cool. I heard more commotion coming from Ms. Rashad's office. I put my phone in my back pocket just in case that man was back. I wiped my hands off and walked towards her office. I sneaked up and peeked in the door. Ms. Rashad had her knees to her chest and she was sitting by her desk. I contemplated turning around and leaving.

"Uh, are you okay?" I said slowly approaching her.

"Oh, I'm fine." She wiped her face and jumped up.

"You sure?" I raised my eyebrow in confusion.

"Positive." Its like she had a moment of weakness and went back to being her. She reminded me a lot of my mother.

"Well um, let me know if you need anything." I slowly back away.

"Will do." She waved me off.

I left and went back to my studio. That was awkward...I picked back up my paint brush and my phone was buzzing. It was Dianna.

"Hey Di"

"GIRL. What are you doing for lunch?" She sounded ready to vent.

"I'm actually meeting with Charlz for lunch."

"Where?"

"She said she would text me the info."

"Okay. Well, send it to me too. K? Bye." She hung up.

I pulled the phone from my ear and kind of just stared at it. What was that about it? I paid it no mind and put my phone back in my pocket. I decided to add metallic spray paint to my painting to give it more umph. I took a napkin and smeared the paint the opposite direction of the spiral. My painting was starting to look like a silver galaxy. I had another hour till my lunch break. Thats time to run home and change out of my paint clothes. I put my painting away and locked my studio. I peeped in on Ms. Rashad's office and she was just on her computer typing away. I decided to call John.

"Hey Kerr." He said happily.

"Somebody's in a good mood." I hopped in my car.

"Yeah. My meeting was smooth and I've been planning the grand opening."

"Without me?" I pretended to be sad.

"Why don't you stop by and join me?"

"I might. I don't know. I'm on my home to shower before I meet my friend for lunch."

"Oh and I meant to tell you, I really appreciate you coming with me to see my aunt." He spoke sincerely.

"The pleasure was all mine. She seems so sweet."

"Maybeee you could come over to my mom's for Thanksgiving coming up."

It was a pause on the phone.

"John....." I huffed.

"C'mon. Technically she already knows you. She'll love you."

"John...." I huffed harder. How would he introduce me? I feel like we're too fast.

"Think about it?"

"I will."

"Call ya later."
