Mia's POV.
When we got back into the car, Ashton and Calum were in a heated discussion about which superhero was the best.
"Spiderman" Calum muttered under his breath, hoping Ashton wouldn't hear him and he would have won the argument. To his dismay, Ashton had heard him and whispered "Superman". Both of these boys are idiots, thinking that no one can hear them, yet even Michael and I in the back could hear them.
Instead of listening to the two of them argue about whose better, I grabbed my earphones out of my bag and hooked them up to my phone, blocking out the boys and concentrating on the beautiful voice of Kellin Quinn.
I love the boys, but sometimes it's nice to have a bit of time to yourself; some time with your own thoughts. After Luke apologized, it got me thinking that maybe this trip won't be as bad as I thought it might be; maybe Luke and I could actually start getting along and not making it awkward for the others. Michael promised me that he wouldn't let me be on my own the whole trip, which is probably why he is literally pressed against me right now, so Luke and I getting on would mean he could hang with the others and I would have someone else I could talk to as well.
Somewhere between Sleeping With Sirens and Taylor Swift I must have fallen asleep because next thing I know, I'm waking up to feeling of someone soothingly rubbing my side and humming a random tune. My head is snuggled into the crook of their neck and by the smell of him; I can sense its Michael.
I made a grumbling noise, letting the guy know I was awake.
Michael laughed. "Good morning, sleepyhead. How was your nap?"
"It was over too quickly. Although I did have a nice dream about monkeys" I smiled, I snuggled into Michael more, wrapping my arms around his waist. I wasn't quite ready to wake up properly yet.
"Aww, you two would make such an adorable couple. I ship it. Michael. Wait, that doesn't work. M-m, Miachael. No, that sounds weird. Why do you guys have similar names? I can't ship them together" Calum pouted, with a huff.
I couldn't help but laugh. "You're such a dork Calum."
Out of the corner of my eye I could see Whitney giving Luke a look. Luke looked slightly uncomfortable with what Calum had said; furrowing his eyebrows and pulling his lips into a frown. He shifted in his seat like he didn't want to be sitting in the car with us at that particular moment. He didn't laugh like everyone else did when Calum said what he said, although come to think of it Whitney only gave out a nervous chuckle.
Whitney cleared her throat. "Well I think that Mia and Luke would make a cute couple. Lia. Now that's a ship name, fuck Miachael. Could you image their children; Luke's big blue eyes and Mia's long dark brown hair? They would be beautiful." Whitney sighed, like she was imagining it in her head and thought it looked perfect.
I blushed and bowed my head in embarrassment. Whitney has always had a way with making me embarrassed; like in year 10 when she told the guy I had a crush on that I was in love with him, which I wasn't, at the time. It's okay though because he ended up being my boyfriend a few weeks later. I don't know how that happened though considering I couldn't look him in the eye, let alone speak to him.
I could help but think about what Whitney just said. It was completely ridiculous. There was no way that Luke and I would be having kids. For god's sake, we are even friends yet. I've known Luke now for a few months and not once have I thought about us even being in a relationship, let alone being married and having kids.
Would it not be weird to be in a relationship with Luke? I don't think I've ever imagined kissing Luke or holding hands with him, or even having sex with him. Yet on the other hand, now that I think about it, it doesn't seem to unrealistic. There is evidence to show that Luke does find me attractive and I suppose he is good looking guy, so why wouldn't a relationship between us be plausible?
