Three Years Later

Mia's POV.

"Lia Charlotte Evans, will you please put your shoes on? We're going to be late."

I was stressed. I had an interview with some guy about being the manager for some up and coming band, but I had a little girl that would much rather watch television right now than come with me.

I finished University about six months ago and Lia and I now live in an average sized flat in the middle of the city centre. It was easier for me to get to my part time job I had picked up right after University to support Lia and I. It wasn't an amazing job, but it was enough to tide us over.

When I first had Lia, it was so difficult to cope with everything; I had to juggle school, exams, coursework and a newborn baby who depended on me full time. It was hard, but I managed. Whitney was a massive help, but sometimes she would leave for a few weeks, during over break, to go on tour with the boys and be with Calum so I was on my own then.

I still talk to the boys daily and whenever they are on break, they always come to visit us. Michael and Ashton were always over my flat when they had some time off because apparently 'Little Pea was quickly turning into a spout'. It was an odd way of putting it but they were right, Lia was growing up way too quick.

I haven't really spoken to Luke since that night in New York. The boys always keep me informed in how he's doing, but I haven't heard directly from him. He and Carly are still together and they look really happy. I'm glad Luke has got someone who could be everything he wanted.

The boys are always on the news at the moment, due to their rapidly rising fame, so I am always up to date with everything going on in their life. The media even made up stupid rumours that had me on the phone to Michael and 3am asking what the fuck was going on. Turns out, Michael and Casey were still together.

As for me, there hasn't been anyone new. It's not like I haven't tried. I have been on many dates in the last three years. The ones I had whist still pregnant were basically already over before the date was finished and I knew why. It seemed like every person I dated were the perfect person for me until the day they met Lia. Every guy suddenly wasn't interested then. In the end I decided to tell them about Lia on the first date and if they couldn't handle it then it's their loss.

"No, Mommy. I need to watch Uncle Mackal." She whined from the spot on the floor, directly in front of the TV screen.

Growing up, Lia has always called the boys, apart from Luke because she has never met him, her uncles'. They were her only male role models and I was so happy that she actually had someone she could look up to. She's always telling me that her favourite is Ashton because she likes to poke his dimples. I thought about Luke when she said that because there was no doubt in my mind that she would do the same to his.

"Lia, baby, you can see Uncle Mikey whenever you want." I tried to reason with her but she was having none of it. She reminded me so much of her Dad sometimes. "How about, if you put your shoes and coat on now, we'll FaceTime Uncle Mikey later?"

"You promise?" She pouted and when I nodded my head she was running out of the room to get ready to leave.

I packed some stuff into Lias' Little Mermaid bag to take with us. She was a real diva sometimes because she wouldn't go anywhere without the stuffed lion Michael got for her when she was born. Apparently his name was Daniel.

Within seconds, Lia was running up to me in her little pink Dr Martins and pink flowery bomber jacket. Her dark blonde, almost brown, hair was in curls around her shoulders and her big blue eyes were looking up at me in anticipation. She was so like her Dad sometimes.
