Riley had a stomach bug but was feeling much better by Monday and was able to go to school. Tuesday and Wednesday passed and then it was Thursday. Maya was sitting in class. Her head was spinning and everything was blurry. She felt like she was falling, and then she did.
Lucas watched the girl fall off the side of her chair, crashing to the ground.
"Maya!" Lucas bent down and Cory ran over to her. Farkle ran as quickly as he could to the nurse.
"She's not waking up." Said Lucas.
"Well, stop shaking her." He placed two fingers on to side of her chin to feel her pulse. Then he put his hand on her stomach to make sure she was breathing. Chills went through his body as he felt the unhealthy flattened stomach. He moved his hand to her ribs.
"Oh my god." Lucas did the same.
"She's slowly killing herself." He thought out loud, grabbing her hand.
"Come on, Maya wake up, wake up."
"Maya, Please." Said Riley in panic.
"She can't hear you." Said Missy.
"Shut up."
"Ow." Said a voice.
"Maya! You fainted, you hit your head on the ground."
"That explains the pain." She said, putting her hands on her head. The nurse finally came and sent her home after she ate 7 saltines. She knew she had to eat more but her anorexic side said that passing out was a sign that she was doing well. She wasn't giving in to her body's complaining. Her body was a wimp. A week, whining wimp. She had taken a shower and was now laying on her back with her cotton shorts and plain t-shirt on. Suddenly, the window flew up and Lucas jumped in.
"That was rude."
"You have a tank top on?"
"I have a bra on, why does it matter to you?" He sat down next to her and grabbed onto the bottom of her shirt.
"What are you doing."
"I need to know the extent of this eating disorder."
"I don't have an eating disorder."
"Maya."
"I do not. I simply lost a few pounds but that was not an eating disorder."
"You were twenty pounds underweight last time. Who knows what you are now."
"I am just fine."
"You're not and you know you're not. If you are, than this will be no problem."
"I don't want to be seen in just a bra."
"You know you are sick. Just let me help you."
"I don't need your help." He pulled the shirt up and over her head, revealing her unhealthy flattened stomach, prominent ribs, and flattening chest under her cotton, unneeded bra.
"You don't need my help?" She stood up and looked in the mirror.
"Okay, Maybe I do. I don't think it will work though." He stood up and turned her around, placing his hands on her waist.
"I'm gonna save you." He leaned in and kissed her, pulling her body up against his. Her arms went up to his shoulders as she kissed back, his tongue entering her mouth as he continued to readjust his mouth on his. The door flew open and they pulled away as quickly as they could when they heard a surprised sound from Cory and Katy.
"Maya Penelope Hart!" Said Katy. Maya and Lucas looked at each other, chuckling just the slightest bit.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Lucas." She turned around and grabbed her shirt off of her bed. The three looked at her disgustingly prominent shoulder blades and spine. Lucas slipped between the two adults.
"By the way. Don't be mad at her. I kissed her." He turned and left.
"We weren't going to do anything. He just took my shirt off because he thought I wasn't eating and he wanted to know if it was true."
"And it is." Said Cory. "I offered to take you to a doctor."
"That's not necessary, sir."
"Maya, I just saw you. You're really sick."
"It's your money. Don't waste it on me." She said, slipping out of the room between them. Katy was in tears.
"I promise, I will get her to go. I'm not gonna let her walk around like that."
"Does she want to die? I mean, Maybe this was her plan all along."
"I don't think she understands the danger in this. She has this idea that you don't need food to live. A doctor would put that in her head. Just make sure she is at my apartment Saturday morning at 10 and I will bring her."
"Okay."
"It's gonna be fine."
"Thank you, Cory."A/N
