"Truth or Dare?"

"Dare."

"Go into the elevator and when someone gets on, stare at them and then suddenly shout 'You're one of them!' as loud as you can."

I turn and look at Max.

"Fuck you man," I say, laughing.

"Hey, you're the one who chose dare," he retorts, "It's not my fault for your poor choices Tess." I sigh and stand up from my spot on the floor. There's a raging blizzard outside so I'm stuck inside my apartment building when I should be off at school, losing my individuality along with my sanity as I gain some knowledge and a wide array of mental scaring. Max has been my neighbor since we moved in when I was like 5 months old, so of course I've decided to spend my time with this loser.

I start walking down the hall towards the elevator when Max sticks his arm out in front of me. I roll my eyes and give him a hand up. He takes it and pulls himself up. I continue towards the elevator at the end of the hall. I stop in front of the stainless steel doors, and look at Max.

"We're not playing truth or dare after this, this is taking way too much effort," I say. He laughs.

"Fine, we'll go watch a movie then, but you have to do this first," He pushes the open button on the side panel of the elevator and the doors slide open with a ding.

I step inside and turn back to Max. As the doors slide closed, I lift my hand and flip him off in salute. He responds with his middle finger as well.

The elevator starts traveling down; one floor, two floors, then it stops at three floors. The door opens and I glance up at who my victim will be. A pretty girl with bright blue hair and  even brighter eyes steps onto the elevator. She looks to be about 17 or 18 years old. She presses the button of the 18th floor and then leans back against the wall. I intently stare at her for about thirty seconds before she looks up at me. I gasp and widen my eyes. I whisper in a voice that is just barely audible, "You... you're... you're one of them." The elevator suddenly comes to a jarring halt, and the lights flicker for a moment until going completely out. The red emergency light starts softly blinking.

"Well shit, that was dramatic," the girl says bursting out with laughter.

"My friend dared me to say that, but I didn't cause the power out," I reply, nervously laughing.

"Yeah, I didn't think you could do that."

"Hey, you don't know what I can and can't do, you don't know me," I saw, laughing.

She slides closer to me, "Well how about I get to know you. I mean the storm probably knocked the power out so we have plenty of time to get well acquainted."

I blush and look down before replying, "Well how well acquainted do you supposed we get?" She's flirting so hard with me and I'm flirting right back.

"Well my name is Ella for starters. And do you have a name, or can I call you mine?"

I stand there for a moment, opening and closing my mouth, unsure of how I respond to that.

"That was smooth as fuck." I finally say laughing. "So smooth that I might slip and fall."

"I've already fallen... fallen for you."

I'm once again flabbergasted.

"Well my name's Tess," I say with a laugh.

"Hey Tess, it's nice to meet you here today in this elevator. Would make a pretty cute and cliche one shot, wouldn't you agree?" (*wink* wink*)

"It would only really be cliche if we kissed though," I say, furiously blushing.

Ella takes a step away from wall and towards me. She gets closer and stops, inches away from my face. Her hands go to my sides and my heart picks up.

"Can I make it cliche?" she asks, her eyes meeting mine.

"Yeah..." I say, my voice trailing off. Ella leans in and presses her lips to mine; it's short and sweet. She breaks off and I can't help but blush. The red emergency light suddenly shuts off and the florescent lights flicker back on. The elevator starts traveling up.

Ella takes a step back from me and smiles.

"Come by 18F tonight around seven. I live there with my roommate, but she's gonna be stuck at her boyfriend's house tonight. I'll make you burned pizza and we can get to know each other better. I want to know you better Tess."

The elevator stops, but before the door opens, Ivy kisses me once more on the lips.

"See you later," she says, winking and then walking out the door.
