~Chapter Twenty-Eight~

A thick stack of documents are dropped onto Winter's desk by one sulking Ja'far. "You know I am not made out to be a errand boy." He tells her, his posture slouched and his back aching slightly from the weight of the papers. She barely glances up at him as she draws the stack towards hers.

"That's nice..." She murmurs leafing through the documents and separating them, setting them on top of already tall piles. "I'm thinking of initiating the rest of the Originals... excluding Aexstra." She scribbles a few words onto a blank piece of paper. "That way we could separate the army into eight portions, each division focused on a particular talent that can be separated into several categories." She slides the paper towards the white haired male who picks it up, reading it quickly.

"I'd be in charge of the Black Sector?" He murmurs looking at her with furrowed eyebrows.

She gazes back at him evenly, not choosing to soften her words. "For all the black sheep, all the people who don't seem to belong in one place or another. Anyone whose Kekkei Genkai turned into an anomaly. Things like that." Her face is completely void of any emotion and Jafar's grip tightens slightly- just enough to crinkle the paper a little -before he exhales slowly.

"Very well."

He turns to walk away, his back a bit too stiff and his gait a little slower. When the door shuts behind him Winter releases a low, breathy sigh as she cracks her neck. "Time to put that brat in his place." She rises to her feet and locks her office door before opening the only window, vaulting herself out of it. She silently lands on a nearby rooftop, precariously balancing on the thin ride where the two sides of the roof met. She ran nimbly along the rooftops, occasionally glancing down at the streets below.

A few people were out and walking around but most were already undergoing extensive training to make them war ready. A light frown flashes across her face as thoughts of the future tug at the edges of her mind and she quickly pushes them away to focus on the task at hand.

Snow drifts up into the air as she lands in front of the teal haired male, her single eye glittering brightly in the sunlight. The sounds of combat rise up in the air around them as partnered up shinobi practice several drills. She remains silent as Aexstra rolls back his shoulders and grins lazily at her. Within a split second she's right next to him, a deathly cold hand wrapping around his throat. A loud boom sounds out as she throws him back fifteen feet, the tall male crashing back into a sturdy pine tree that shudders from the impact.

Shocked silence falls over the present shinobi but a reckless grin appears on Aexstra's face as he stands up, his head hanging low. Lunging forward his chakra enhanced punch splits the ground where Winter stood a few seconds before, the black haired teen having jumped several feet straight up into the air. Whirling around midair she kicks away the assault of kunai thrown at her with her hands stuffed in her pockets. She lands lightly on the ground and cracks her neck slowly. Her eye narrows as Aexstra gets into a Taijutsu stance, making the universal gesture for come at me.

A low whistle sounds out form somewhere within the crowd of watching shinobi. "Stupid move..."

Her eye darkens and slowly takes her hands out of her pockets, scared, pale fingers twisting into unfamiliar shapes. The two sprints towards each other, small spurts of snow rising and falling in the air. Blocks are dealt out, blows landing swiftly and tension rising. Aexstra lands a solid punch on Winter's jaw making her fly back a few feet. She skids to a stop, crouched down with her fingertips pressed lightly into the biting snow. Her hair hangs over her face and all that is visible are her lips. Her lips that pull up into a wicked smile.

"Fool."

She whispers the word but it she might as well have screamed it for it rung in every ear that was present. And she disappears. A soft cry escaped from Aexstra's lips as he slams into the ground harshly. The breath is knocked out of him in a rush, a few droplets of blood falling onto the snow. He has no time to recover as the air grows thick with electricity. A bolt of lightning races down from the sky heading straight for him... and strikes right next to his body.
