~Chapter Thirty-Three~
"Moonstone!" The girl had to admit, she wasn't expecting the first words to pop out of the young man's mouth to be about a pretty stone. She straightened up, having been sitting down on the floor of the old training room for several hours, her spine aching from her hunched over position. Eien pushed himself up into a sitting position, his eyes alight with discovery. Apparently he'd forgotten about his current predicament.
"What about moonstones?" She asked in an airy voice, the shadows concealing her mostly still form from sight.
"The riddle, it all makes a lot more sense now! Winter probably meant for us to pass through the Mountain of Memories and go to the lake in the Third Mountain. There's said to be moonstones there that only glow if the searcher had a certain quality. Of course what quality that is, I have no idea." He blinked. Looked around. Blinked again. "Wait a second, what happened?"
"You intruded on a sacred place, and I almost killed you. Obviously I decided to spare your life thought." Fabric rustled as she stands up.
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why didn't you kill me?"
She almost snorts. Most people wouldn't ask why she didn't kill them, they'd usually ask why was she going to kill them. Or they'd try to kill her. From this angle all Eien could see was the smooth fabric encasing her- a white cloak with gold edges and a chain draped across the neck to fasten it on -and a few edges of her face.
"Because, you and I, have a lot to talk about..."
She steps out of the light and hears the sharp intake of his breath. He recognized her. Of course he did, after all she was the girl who'd appeared in his dream. The girl who pushed him through a spirit door.
"My name's Sia... Sia Nokari."

Preparing for an all out war was tiring. Especially since this was the first war all five Hidden Villages would be on the same side. At first things had been extremely tense, the Five Kages being cooped up in meeting after meeting and the shinobi of the villages being rather snappy around those that were enemies only a few weeks ago, and after a little while... well things were only slightly less tense. However with the numeral amounts of intelligence agents piling together plenty of information, the Kage's had managed to paint a picture of what the war had in store for them.
It wasn't a very pretty picture.
What they needed was a secret weapon, something that would completely catch the Akatsuki and their allies off guard.
Which was why Tsunade had finally consented to sending Sakura and a small team of ninjas to the one place Winter may be hiding out. And also why she'd sent Naruto off with Killer B. It was all in hopes of winning a war that looked very bleak.
So as Sakura, Sai, Temari, and a young Lightning Shinobi named Karui, braved the treacherous mountain range that separates them from their goal, Tsunade could only pray they'd come back with the support of a cold, black haired kunoichi.

Eien bit into the glistening apple the flying creature named Ryuk offered him. Sia sat directly across from him as he slowly processed all the information she'd given him. "So I have the Nokari gene, and it's extremely dominant and that's why it's so hard for me to control my lightning?" She nods elegantly. "And it will only grow harder for me to control my lightning?" She nods once more. "But you can teach me how to do what you do, the only catch being I have to relinquish my claim to the Ookami kekkai genkai."
"That's correct."
He lets out a long held breath. "That's a pretty big decision... what happens when I relinquish my claim?"
She hesitates for the first time. "I... I have no idea."
He raises an eyebrow and pushes his glasses up. "That makes this seem a lot more sketchier.
She looks at him for a long moment, her eyes searching. Finally she speaks up, her voice soft. "But you want to do it, don't you? You're tired of hiding in your sister's shadow. You want to prove to the others you have real value, that you can fight, that you belong there just as much as anyone else. You want to show the world that you're someone to be respected." He blinks slowly before his shoulders slump forward. He doesn't say anything. "Am I right?"
His answer is a mere whisper. "Yes."
"Then do you want to try? Are you one hundred percent sure with revoking your claim?"
He looks at her, his eyes full of emotions.
"I am. I want to revoke my claim to the Ookami power."

A Novella by E.L Curtis
Pryrrhos, the city of eternal fire, was the sole reason the Raizen Empire flourished with activity and kept the crime at bay.
Until it burned to ash.
Fifteen years later the Empire has started to enforce a solution to the steadily growing crime rate. This solution is fifty foot steel walls surrounding a city named Ground Zero that houses the so called scum of the world— the unwanted, the murderers, the assassins, the orphans. For Oliver this is as close to a home as he's got. He's generally at east with the dark environment, the backstabbing company, and killing to make a living... only because he accepts it as his punishment for the actions he took in the past. He's forced himself to acknowledge that he will never leave Ground Zero.
Until a mysterious girl approaches the assassin with a heavy purse and a mission; take her to the ruins of Pryrrhos, and help her find a book that is considered a myth.
Racing against the clock the two unlikely allies are forced to cooperate so they can each get what they desire:
The Book of Titaia
And a one way ticket out of Ground Zero.
