~Chapter Forty~
The land was ruined, almost the point of being unrecognizable by any who had been there before. Gouges littered the rocky landscape, several parts of the clearing permanently altered by the battle taking place there. If this war did end, not even the most powerful Earth shinobi would be able to cure the land and nurture it back to its former state. It would forever remain scarred, a haunting reminder of the war that was fought and the lives that were lost.
A haunting sound ripples over the land, the beast brown in color and gigantic in size, towering over everything. A single eye that was a piercing red with black rings, complete with commas, stared at the shinobi below it. Spiky protrusions grow out of its back, the creature having a gross, bulb-like body with sharp teeth visible in its mouth.
Fire threatens to burn those who had dared to challenge the two that had brewed this war, Madara Uchiha using his signature jutsus to attempt to wipe out the allied shinobi force. Aiding the revived shinobi, Obito Uchiha produced a fire jutsu as well, his eyes narrowed in on the irritating thorn in his side. Naruto Uzumaki. The blonde was cloaked in ethereal light— a mixture of yellows, oranges, and a few streaks of red —courtesy of him achieving the Tailed Beast Mode. Cloaks of red enveloped each of the shinobi in the allied force, the cloaks produced from the chakra given to Naruto willingly from the Nine Tails. Obito felt his lips curl down into a frown, the boy had grown far too much to be considered unimportant.
The clouds were an alarming shade of black, courtesy of the Ten Tailed beast. The creature had been amassing chakra, and now it was roaring its fury, unleashing natural disasters such as the storm brewing overhead. Its roar shatters the air, water crashing from nowhere, the earth rumbling and splitting from the sheer force.
Yet, the pesky flies that were the Allied Shinobi Forces, still lived, protected by that infuriating chakra of Naruto.
But this attack had been harsh on the teenager, that much had been obvious. Blood dripped down his forehead as his Tailed Beast Mode disappeared, the chakra protecting the other shinobi flaring before vanishing as well.
However, this didn't offer an opportunity of attack like the two Uchiha had thought it would. Instead the opposite happened. The shinobi dashed in front of Naruto, their fighting spirits bright and unyielding. And, Kakashi Hatake, managed to take Obito Uchiha into his Kamui with him. Things were not going as planned.
But it didn't matter. They could throw as many wrenches in his plan as they'd like, Madara Uchiha would still win, no matter what.
Dust swirled, clouds darkened, the battle heating up, as the shinobi forces made their stand against the long dead shinobi and the hell that he brought to them. Their conviction may waiver from time to time, blood was spilt and scattered the landscape, but the shinobi would never give up. But one of the most uplifting things that happened was the the four former Hokage made their appearance on the battlefield.
A red barrier flares up, trapping the Ten Tails inside. Just as the Hokage finished their trap, a vaguely familiar presence makes itself known to those fighting. Jumping over the towering rocks in his path, Sasuke Uchiha slides down the rough surface, landing in front of Naruto and Sakura. Landing stealthily next to him is an orange haired man donning a purple cloak, Jugo unsure of what Sasuke was planning.
Sakura wasn't sure her heart could take the surprise. First meeting Naruto's dad, then seeing the other Hokage brought back from the dead, and now Sasuke had joined? If someone else popped up out of the blue she might very well have a heart attack. And now, as she stood on the boulder facing the shimmering barrier next to the blonde idiot and the guy she'd chased after for a long time, she felt something spring up inside of her chest.
Hope.
Hope for the future. Hope that things might finally start falling into place. Hope that this war could actually be won.
Thus, with a heart filled with hope, Sakura Haruno charged into the battle alongside the original members of Team Seven. Her blood burned with the adrenaline that came with fighting, her stored chakra just begging to be released. Finally, she had mastered the one technique that used to belong to Tsunade alone, the Hundred's Healing Mark. And with that mark, Sakura kicked ass.
Fighting against the fusion beings that the Ten Tails had produced, she unleashed her rage on the strange creatures. In a similar position, Sasuke and Naruto fought to take down as many creatures as they could, a slight hint of competition in the air between the two of them.
But no one saw the enormous fusion being coming up behind Sasuke until it was too late, the large creature's spikes inches away from piercing through his back, headed straight for his heart.
Thunder booms.
Lightning crackles.
"Oi! The only person here allowed to killed Sasuke, is me!"
The creature is fried by white lighting tinged with red.
And all hell breaks loose when the Allied Shinobi Force spy the nine silhouettes standing ontop of a large boulder towering over the battlefield. Lighting lights up the silhouette standing in the middle, a red cloak flowing in the wind, her pitch black hair swallowing up any light shed upon her, her single eye shining bright in the storm.
Winter smirks. "Miss me?"
Guardian of the Storm (minus the two specials) is a hundred and forty pages long. Geez, it's so fricken long and I still have to get through the war and the last ark I have planned.
I say that this story has about twenty chapters left? Maybe more? I am going to condense the war cause it literally takes up a few hundred episodes and ain't nobody got time to write that (especially me).
Ew. School starts in two weeks. Someone, please save me.
QotC: If I made a manga version of one of the chapters I've written, or maybe a future chapter, would you guys like to see it?
