Meeting Mr. Roman

The next morning, we put our plan into action.  I dressed in a dark gray business suit jacket and skirt.  I went down to Richard Roman Enterprises to meet Dick Roman.  He would know it was me hopefully.

When I walked in the doors, I got a lot of stares.  But I ignored them and continued on to the elevator.  I went up to the floor with Roman's office.  I walked to his secretary, and told her that I needed to see him.

She looked at me with disgust.  "Do you have an appointment?"

I shook my head.  "No...but it is very important that I see Mr. Roman."

She glared at me.  "No one sees Mr. Roman without an appointment."

Just then Mr. Roman walked out of his office.  He glanced at me before focusing on his secretary.  "Is there a problem Cynthia?"

She nodded her head.  "Yes, there is Mr. Roman.  This...woman...claims to need to see you."

Mr. Roman took a close look at me.  "Do I know you?"

I smirked.  "You should...lieutenant."

Recognition flashed across his face.  Then he took my hand in his and kissed it.  "It's a pleasure to see you again, my Queen."

Cynthia whipped around to look at me.  "You're the Queen?"

I nodded.  "The one and only."

Cynthia looked at her feet.  "Then please forgive my rudeness, your majesty."

I smiled.  "You were only doing your job, Cynthia."

Mr. Roman turned to me as he said, "What is it you wanted to see me about?"

I sighed.  "It's really a private matter."

Mr. Roman nodded.  "I understand.  Let's go into my office."

Mr. Roman led me into his office and pulled a chair out for me to sit on.  It was a rather plush chair and I was uncomfortable sitting on it.

Mr. Roman sat down across from me and leaned on his desk.  "Now, what is it you wanted to see me about?"

I sat up straight in my chair.  "I want you to give up your pursuits of taking over the world."

Mr. Roman laughed.  "Really?  I can't do that."

"Why not?"

Mr. Roman got up from his chair and walked over behind where I was sitting.  Even though he thought I didn't know where he was, I knew exactly where he was.  Over the years, my senses had improved.  I knew that he was coming up closer behind me.

When he did speak in my ear, I didn't even bat my eye.  "Because even if I wanted to, which I don't, but if I did, my operation is too widespread to just stop now."

I nodded.  "Understood...but I command you to stop this operation."

Mr. Roman came and sat on a corner of his desk that was right in front of me.  "You are not the boss of me.  You do not give the orders around here."

A voice behind me said, "Show her some respect, Richard."

I knew that voice.  It was very familiar.  I stood up and turned around to see...my husband, the King.

Somehow he had managed to acquire a human form that looked remarkably like his Leviathan one.  He was wearing a pair of jeans and a black T-shirt.  I could see a tattoo peeking out from under one of the sleeves.  From what I could see, it appeared to be a sea serpent.

He walked over to me and then lightly touched my face, as if he was afraid that I was only a mirage.  "It's good to see you again, Meara."
