His smile pierced my eyes as he pulled away. "Ready?" He asked me. "I guess. Just don't let go." I whispered. "Never." He assured me. His grip on my hand tightened as we dashed through doors and down the parking lot into the trees covering a small corner of the lawn. "Okay. Now where is there a good place to eat around here?" He muffled his voice to not be heard. "Uhm... Well there's this place called 'Mama's' and they have the best pasta." I mentioned only from memories of my mom. "Great lets go." He smiled and led me down the way. We walked down the dark gravel road in silence, Nialls hand let go of mine, I couldn't help but think I had done something wrong but before I could say a word he positioned his fingers in between mine intertwining our fingers. "This ways better. I get to hold you tighter." He smiled big. Of course I blushed like any other girl would've. His head tilted up to the stars "wow." He said in complete awe. "What?" I questioned. "The stars.. They're so bright here. I've never seen them like that before." He said in amazement. "Well in the city with all the building lights and clubs they over power the beauty of Mother Nature." I said most confidently. His head turned to look at me. "What?" I asked. "Is that what you did?" He whispered "did what?" I asked obviously confused. "Let the power of hurt over power your strength and beauty?" My head tilted down quickly so not to show tears. "Lennox please.." He pushed. "Look Niall I know you're probably only doing this to be nice.. I'm nothing special. I don't have anything to offer other than knowledge of stars." I tried to joke. His thumb and for finger touched my chin softly, slowly tilting my head to look at him. "You are special. Everything about you is special, your scars are just rewards from battles you've won. And your knowledge." A smile spread across. His lips "it's just another cute thing about you I'll add to my journal tonight." My cheeks went cherry. "Stop." I whispered "why?" The aggravation in his voice prominent. "Because I know you're lying." I turned away. "Why would I lie?! What do I have to lie about? Lennox. I like you. I know it's only been one day but I feel like it's been years." His eyes slowly filling up. A gently tear drifted down his cheek. "I don't need another person to treat me like I'm some I solved case, or give me pity. I just want someone to say it's okay I'm here for you." I slowly grazed my thumb against his cheek wiping the tear away softly. "Niall." I said softly. "What?" He continued to look down. "I'm here for you." I whispered.
