Hello. I'm back. This is going to be normal. Btw, this will be in Annabeths POV.
Annabeth: Yay, me for a change.
Percy: I do not like the title of this book...
Annabeth: Why?
Percy: First of all, it says we are separated.
Me: you worry to much. On with the story!
---------My name is Annabeth Chase. Me? I'm special. I've gotten into more trouble than I can count. Here's the thing: I never asked to be a demigod. I never asked for family problems. I never asked to see my cousin again and hear that their are Norse Gods, along with Greek, Roman, and Egyptian. I didn't ask for death to come knocking on my door. Knock, Knock. I hear as I get out of bed. I carry myself out of bed, and grasp the doorknob. I twist it and pull. Nico was at my door. Of course he was. Death knocking at my door.
"Um... I was nominated to come and get you." He stutters, "It is lunchtime."
Nico's hair was a mess. He had bags under his eyes, but that's not even the strangest thing. He was wearing a Camp Half-Blood shirt. I knew he was staying, but I assumed he'd stick to skulls.
"What?" My eyes widen, I couldn't believe I was asleep that long. I must've looked like a hot mess.
"Yeah, well it's been a long time since we could safely sleep, so everyone slept in." Nico shifts uncomfortably.
I forgot that just yesterday, the war had ended. I nod as he leaves so I could get ready. My back aches so badly. I notice crouches and head to them. My ankle kills as I fall down, hurting my butt. I let out a gasp and swear in Greek. Apparently Nectar can only do so much. I take the crutches so I can get out of bed. I am ready in only 15 minutes.
'The hard part will be getting there,' I decide.
'Well it's not bad, back on the Argo II I had to get ready by 6:30.' I think. 'It could be worse.'
I get out of my cabin just as lunch starts. I walk with the Stolls, as Percy is already there. Well, I say walk. With the crutches it was more of a waddle, but you get the idea. I feel my back pocket. What once was there was not gone. And I know the culprit. Well, I think I do.
"Travis," I start as sweet as possible, "Where is my wallet?"
He shrugs. My gut tells me he's telling the truth. I refuse to keep up the act so I glare at Connor. He hands over the wallet reluctantly, afraid to face my wrath. I smirk and keep walking. I sit down at my table next to my cabin mates. We talk and eat. I feast. It's been so long since I've sat down with everyone properly. It's almost alien.
I can't help but think, 'The Argo II's food is much better than this.'
A memory strikes me as hard as surviving Tarturas. 'Leo' I think. My eyes water. We all scrape our food in the fire. I use the juiciest strawberry. Instead of praying to my mother, as usual, I prayed to all the gods, that Leo is alive, and coming home. He saved us all. He's a hero. Nobody can deny that much.
Now that I'm on the topic of the quest, I wonder what happened with the line of the prophecy, 'an oath to keep with a final breathe.' I tried asking Rachel, but she was clueless as well. When I hear my name, I tune back into the rest of the world.
"Annabeth, Annabeth," Jaime, a girl from my cabin says, "Are you listening to me?"
No. No I was not.
"Yes." I lie.
"Since we have no activities today, what do you want to do?"
I shrugged. Jaime looks behind me, then waves goodbye. I was starting to wonder why but was interrupted by Percy.
'That's why' I thought as I kissed him. I couldn't believe that we were literally just in Tarturas. That we were in the war. It seemed like a distant memory. Except for the damage at Camp. And the nightmares. I guess being a daughter of a goddess isn't so bad, except she hates my boyfriend's guts.
"What about that date?" He smiles. It's comforting to know, that no matter what I'll always have his shoulder to lean on.
"Sounds good to-" I was going to finish, but was interrupted by a lot of wind. Not your average gust of air, but more like the flapping of wings. Really big wings. Dragon sized wings. This may not me that unusual, us being demigods and all, but the last dragon we had here at Half-Blood Hill, was Festus. But that's impossible. Completely and totally-
Possible. Then, oddly enough, my suspicions were confirmed. The sound of the flapping of wings got louder. I could hear a creek and a groan I the distance. Usually I could hear it in synchronization with the wings flapping. Jason comes up to me, bewildered by what's going on.
"What's going on?" I ask him, hoping for answers. He shakes his head, and looked as if he had hoped I had some. He was as clueless as me. Useful.
"Flame on!" We barely hear over the wind. I wasn't sure what it meant. An attack? A motto? A really, really dumb camper?
Jason obviously knows something I don't, because once he hears this, his eyes widen, and his jaw drops. "Leo?" He asks, gaping.
Sure enough, we look up to see a giant metal, huge dragon rapidly flapping his wings in the air, creaking with every movement he makes. Now that, is not your average bird.
