I'm back. I've been a bit lazy.
Rachel: just a bit
Me: I'm ashamed, but was in Turks and Cacos
Percy: You didn't take me??
Annabeth: Sicko
Me: I carry you in my hearts
Calypso: What's Turkey and Cake???
Leo: You got a lot to learn sunshine.
Calypso: DONT CALL ME SUNSHINE!
Me: Save the fight for later!
Percy: ANNABETH, Will you
Annabeth: go on,
Percy: Eat this pizza with me?
ANNABETH: THAT WAS YOUR QUESTION??
Percy: Uhhhh, yes?
Annabeth: There's no olives.
Percy: Right. Sorry.
Athena: YOU BETRAYED MY DAUGHTER. PREPARE TO DIE.
Me: I said later. On to the story!
------------------Rachel left about an hour ago, and I sat there crying to myself for a long time. It seemed as if tears would never stop. In all honesty, I wasn't sure what to do anymore. I want to look for Percy, but I can't bring myself to go out along anymore. Not after Gaia. Not after Tartarus.
Leo came over to me. He sat down. He didn't say anything. Just sat there, playing with his tools. We sat for a half hour before saying anything. He looked pretty upset as well.
"Hey Annabeth?" He said looking up.
I look up. "Hmm?" I ask wiping tears.
"I'm really, really, sorry." His eyes were full of guilt, but I don't know why.
I suddenly felt a surge of madness rush through me. "Don't say sorry!! It's not your fault! You have nothing to do with this!"
My eyes must of looked angry, because he backed up a bit. I breathed in.
"S-sorry." He replies. "I don't mean to upset you!" A slight bit of fear appears in his eyes, but as soon as I notice it, it disappears.
My anger fades. I drop to the ground. Tears stream down my face. "I'm so sorry." I gasp for air over the sobs. Leo pats me. His face is solemn, and sad. His face is still smudged by motor oil. His hair is a mess. Usually that takes away from his serious face. Now it adds to it.
He hugs me, and only then do I realize that I'm shaking.
"I shouldn't have snapped." I say, choking on tears. I should be strong. I'm the strong one. Conceal don't feel.
He didn't respond. He helps me up onto the bench. My knees are scraped, so he puts water from his bottle on them, making it sting a little. I hold back a grunt.
"I'm," Leo looks pained as he says this. "I'm sorry to break it to you, Annabeth, but..."
I wait for him to finish his sentence, but even if it only takes a few seconds, the tension is great. I sit there, anticipating what will happen. I search his eyes in attempt to figure out what it is.
"Isn't Delphi not working?" He finishes
Wait what? Through all my calculations it never occurred to me. How is that possible? That couldn't of happened? Could it? If so then...
I vaguely noticed Leo waving his hand in front of my face. I can make out only a few muffled sounds.
"Annabeth?" Leo called.
That's the last thing I remember before I blacked out. Well, that and being out smarted by repair boy.
---/-
"Annabeth? Annabeth?" Leo asks. "I think she's waking up!"
"I was wrong." I stammer groggily, "I'm never wrong!!!"
Will laughed and set the nectar he was holding aside. "Is that why you fainted?"
Leo laughed. It was pure. "That's our Annie!"
I'm confused but nod. "I don't know what's going on but we need a quest." I say, "Also, don't call me Annie." I add, shooting a glare at Leo.
Leo nods. "Sure thing, Annie. But, you're right. We need a quest and to solve the prophecy. We might need help." He says, then mutters, "And a whole lot of it."
I nod grimly. "Yeah, but we'll deal with that later."
"Good luck, guys." Will says checking his watch. "I'm gonna go find Neek."
Will runs off, with those as his last words to us. I assume something is going on between him and Nico, but it's hard to know for sure.
I nod at Leo and we decide to go.
-----
We march into the Big House and demand a quest. Chiron is taken by surprise. He sits in his wheelchair playing a game with Mr. D. We tell him out story and he nods grimly. He gives me a pitiful look. It's almost as if he doesn't expect us to come back alive. He rises from his wheel chair into his true form.
"Who are you taking, Ananbeth?" He asks.
I think for a moment. "Calypso, Leo, and Grover."
Chiron looks confused. As if he's questioning my logic. That's his first mistake.
"Annnabeth, it's three per quest. Three is the sacred number. Three big olympians, three for a quest."
"I just, I feel like I need everyone for this. Plus, it worked out fine when we explored the Labyrinth." I know it's not the fairest way to play, but hey, it works.
Chiron nods. "You can leave tommorow"
Chiron looks at us grimly and sets a card down. "I win again, I believe." He says.
Mr. D grunts, "I won't spend another century loosing to you." He mumbles.
Leo and I walk out. We watch everyone playing and having fun. I miss when my life was that simple. I inhale a nice, long breath. When I let it out it turns into a sigh.
"Annabeth?" Leo asks.
I nod, indicating for him to continue.
"Do you think..." He hesitates, "I mean... can we do it?"
I look into the clear summer sky. I sigh once more.
"You know, Leo, for once I really don't know." I say, and I really meant it.
