"Hey Annie!" Connor yells as they arrived at camp. "Welcome back!"
Connor gives me a high five. He's grinning like mad. It's sorta suspicious, but I wasn't going to interrogate him the moment he got home.
"Hey Connor." I say back, then remembering Luke's words I say, "you might wanna check under your bed tonight."
Connor grin turned morphed into what looked like a frown of fear. "Wha-"
At that very moment, Chiron came, greeting us. "Annabeth!" He smiled at me. "We have much to discuss."
"Bye Connor!" I yell to him as I follow Chiron to the big house.
The still-dumbfounded Connor simply waved goodbye.

Once we had reached the big house I looked up at Chiron. "What do you need to know?"
Chiron's face was slightly grim. "Tell me what happened on you quest."
I told him everything. I didn't even leave Lukes letter out. I didn't stop until the very end. Chiron looks directly into my eyes and says, "I fear there is a great danger here."

If only we knew what's to come.

I didn't question why. I had a feeling that was a story for another time. Plus, I was exhausted. I yawned and rubbed my eyes, as if to prove it.
"Annabeth," Chiron said to me. "You might want to visit Posidens Cabin."
My eyes widen in shock. I was so busy with Chiron, that I forgot Percy's home! I quickly nodded at Chiron. "I have to go! See you later!"
I run out the door before anyone can stop me. I was running so fast I didn't even notice Lou Ellen right in front of me. Well, that is, until we collided.
We both sat on the ground trying to recount what just happened. Lou was the first to break the silence. "You okay there?"
She looked weary, and a bit thinner. There were bags under her eyes, as if she'd stayed up for several nights without sleep. But she still had a happy look in her eyes.
I nod and stand back up. "Yeah. Sorry about that. I didn't bother to look where I was going."
Lou smiled and laughed. "I've been there a few times."
"How are you feeling, by the way?" I ask. Her magic being drained from her was terribly dangerous.
"Yeah." Lou said. "Still recovering a bit, but not a soul died!"
"Thank the Gods." I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
"Thank the gods indeed. You off to see Percy then?" Lou winks and nudges me.
  "Yeah, actually."
"Go on then! We'll catch up later." Lou starts to walk away and waves goodbye. I wave back and continue my run to the Poseidon cabin.
Once I get there I kick the door open to find Percy sleeping on his bed, no sheets, no covers, no pajamas. He wore his jeans and CHB tee shirt. I pulled the blankets over him, and noticed a big wet spot on his pillow. I sigh and laughed at the same time.
"You drool in your sleep." I state, matter of factly.
"You know it!" Percy says, suddenly wide awake. He stands up and me and him hug. Percy pushes me away, grabs my hand, then judo-flipped me. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting to do that." He grins at me.
"Everything hurts!" I say standing up. I grin back and hug him. "I missed you seaweed brain!"
"I missed you too, Wise Girl." He kisses my cheek.
For a second there, everything's perfect.
See, this is when Leo ruins it.
"Hey! No PDA!" We hear. Standing in the doorway is Leo Valdez, smirking.
"What do you want, Valdez?" Percy asked jokingly.
"No: hey Leo! Glad to see your alive!" Leo shakes his head. "Anyway, where's my hello kiss?"
"Go ask Calypso." I reply.
Leo rubs his cheek as if remembering a bad memory. "I did. She punched me."
"Tough love, dude." Percy joked.
At that very moment Piper and Jason stormed in. The look on Jason's face was something like: sorry. Couldn't hold her back.
Then Piper slapped both me and Percy. "How could you? I was worried sick!" Piper drones on and on, endlessly. Eventually, I inturpt her.
"We're sorry! Okay?"
Piper smiles and hugs us. "Okay."
Jason and Percy have a bro hug, with Leo who joined in last minute.
Then the door swung open once more, and showed Hazel and Frank running in. Out of Breath, Hazel said, "We came as soon as we heard."
She and Frank both embraced us. "Dude, you had me worried there." Frank told Percy.
"You had us ALL worried." Hazel added.
"Let's just be glad we're okay." I say. We laugh, and spent the rest of the night laughing and smiling. More and more campers joined in. It was pretty, well, perfect. And as beautiful as the sea...

"My mistress!" A raspy voice chocked out. "The children have come out alive!"
"Don't worry, my dear." A earthy voice called out. It was a familiar voice. A sleepy voice. An evil voice. It was Gaia's voice. "They'll get what's coming for them."
Sometimes an ounce of revenge is what it takes to make the best people break.
