Caine stepped out from behind a tree which he was apparently hiding behind for awhile. Gabriel stepped forward defensively. "What the hell are you doing here?" Caine repeated. He stared at Gabriel's massive wings. "Looks like little angel boy here thinks he is pretty cool, huh?'' Caine taunted at him. "I always wondered what you were."
I didn't want any trouble from Caine. "Caine, we didn't know we'd be bothering you here." I said lightly as I stepped forward. "Oh really Arianna? Would you still be all calm if I told Gabriel our little secret?" I knew he would use it against me. Gabriel looked at me, confused. "Caine, what do you want from me?'' I sighed and threw my arms in the air. This was so stupid. I hate hiding myself but I had no choice.
"I want a lot of things that I think you can give me if you want to keep our secret safe." Caine smirked. "And you'll be good if you don't want me telling everyone about Gabriel too. Quite a lot of creatures hate those heavenly beasts." He sauntered back to where he came from. He was black mailing me. I either got killed from Caine or do what he wanted.
Gabriel turned to me. "What are you hiding?" He asked with hurt in his voice. His face was mixed his distrust and disgust. I felt my heart break right then. I didn't want to lie to him but I had no choice.
"I can't... It's nothing." I struggled to reassure him. I probably looked shady. "Do you have something going on between you and Caine?'' Gabriel was at a distance from me now. His amazing wings were no longer held with pride. "I thought you were different. I really did." He furrowed his brows and turned his head away from me. "Gabriel-" it was too late. He dived off of the cliff and shot into the air.
I felt my eyes water up. I wiped my eyes quickly. As hurt as I was right now, I would not cry. My heart was beating as if I had ran a mile. I screamed as loud as I could. Let the whole town hear my pain. It was the middle of the day and I was in the middle of the forrest alone.
The only way to go was down. I had to hike down the side of the hill which was steep, littered with trees and jagged rocks. I sighed and began my long journey home.
I dangled my feet over the edge and dropped. I landed right beside a rock that could have easily penetrated through my foot. I stood straight then side stepped my way down the hill, dodging trees and rocks and plants.
The hill got even steeper. The rocks got bigger and the trees got more dense. I put my foot down on a loose rock. I didn't mean to of course, but it was too late. I fell forward and hit the ground. But my body had gained momentum. I was tumbling down the hill, hitting trees and bouncing off of rocks. I tried to stop myself, but there was nothing to grab onto. The ground became level when I finally stopped.
I tried to sit up, but my body wouldn't listen. My entire body ached in pain. I felt the flow of blood out of my nose. My leg felt as if it were on fire. Laying on my back, I didn't move.
I finally managed to move my head up. I cried out in pain. Even moving my head hurt. My clothes were ripped in various places. Blood stained the front of my shirt. I had various scratches and bruises on my arms. But my leg was by far the worse. It looked like mangled flesh. Blood was steadily pouring out of the wound. I must have hit a rock hard enough to cut my leg up that bad.
I placed my two shaky hand over the wound. Just the mere action was like putting salt on it. The blood flowed over my fingers as I pressed down. Eventually the blood had slowed to a stop. The cut had also closed ever so slightly, just enough to stop the bleeding. I wasn't strong enough to do anymore.
I grabbed onto a tree and hauled my self up. I was light headed and weak. But I had to get to safety. Blood was all over me. I was a train wreck and the only way I could move was by limping.
