Moe and I changed into our gym clothes. The entire time, we giggled over how I just healed her. We got out of the change room and we waited in the middle of the gym. I looked around and I locked eyes with Caine. He had been glaring at me the whole time.
I turned back to Moe. Soon after, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around and I saw Atticus standing behind me. He lowered his head down to my level and he whispered into my ear. His breath tickled my neck.
"You won't forget about me now that you're making new friends, will you?" His voice held no emotion, it didn't even sound like a question. I turned around to face him. He was standing so close to me that we were only inches apart. "Of course. I don't think I could ever forget about the boy who lives with me. We both chuckled and I turned around again.
Moe was looking at me curiously. But she just shrugged and faced Snake in the middle of the gym, who was explaining what we would be playing. Everyone was out of the change rooms on time. "We will be sticking with just a simple game of dodge ball today. No killing or maiming allowed." There was a groan after he said that. People actually maim each other here? Oh great.
Snake assigned teams, which made a lot of people mad. He put Atticus on the opposite team from me. I had Moe and Caine on my team, along with half of the barbies I saw last gym class. Great. Snake let go of a giant bag of balls and the game begun. Moe and I stuck together as we threw random balls. The whole time, I had to dodge a bunch of balls that kept flying right towards me. I went to pick up a ball that rolled in front of me, but Caine shoved me out of the way and grabbed it. Whatever.
The game was almost over and my team was winning. Suddenly, a ball game flying towards my face. I saw it come closer and closer to me. Then it slowed to a stop. I reached out and grabbed it mid air. It seemed that my powers worked best when I panicked. I still couldn't believe that I could do that. I looked around to see if anyone saw. Nobody was paying attention to me, for a first. But Caine was staring right at me. He saw what I did. But instead of yelling out loud, he turned around and continued playing the game.
I knew this wasn't going to be that last of this. He would tell everyone and get me killed, or he would use it against me.
The bell rang and Moe and I changed quickly. We left the change rooms and we walked towards the cafeteria. It was busy with people and I couldn't help but look out for trays to be spilled on me. Moe took me to her table and we sat down. She introduced me to her friends. There was this guy who had his earphones in. He was intently staring at his tray, I don't think he even saw us come. He had his dark hood covering half of his face. Suddenly, his head snapped up. His shocking blue eyes fixed on me. His swooped bangs covered half of one eye. There was something indescribable about him. We stared at each other until Moe spoke up.
"Arianna, Gabriel. Gabriel, Arianna." Moe introduced us both. He smiled a bit and greeted me. I did the same. I saw Atticus walk through the doors and I called him over to our table. After walking through the cafeteria, he sat beside me and took out a phone.
"You have a phone?" I asked him. He looked up and grinned. "Daniel gave you almost everything he gave me.'' I snatched his phone out of his hand and programmed my number in. He looked at me strangely. "I'm putting my number in your phone." I said. He nodded then took his phone back.
"I bet you're hiding something on that phone, that's why you're looking so nervous. I bet it's porn!" I joked with him. We all started laughing, but Atticus blushed. "I'm getting you your food even though you don't deserve it." He teased back at me. He walked off to the cafeteria line and I turned back towards the table. "Hey Moe, do you have a phone?" I looked over at her, eating a salad. "Yeah, I can put you're number in and I can text you when we'll go tonight.'' She smiled at me. I gave her my number, then she put it in her phone.
