After Jaime and Daena left, Cersei went back to her apartment in Maegor's to get ready. She told her servant to get a bath ready; she always thought better when immersed in the hot water. She stepped in and began to plan.

Perhaps if that little witch knew the truth it would be easier to get rid of her...or at least more fun. Not that it won't be fun already. I would have to be subtle of course, but that's my specialty, is it not? Maybe I can imply it a little here and there; Jaime will try to stop me if I do too much. Plus, she must've heard those awful rumors by now; I'll have to do something about those soon but they may help me with this. With luck I'll be able to dispose of her quickly after she knows. She won't ever guess what's coming.

Cersei stepped out of the now-cold bathwater and slipped into a low-cut dress of emerald green and gold that she knew Jaime had always loved for matching her quintessentially Lannister features. Then she told her servant everything she wanted made ready and sat down to wait and think some more.

Daena sat down on the bed and fixed her deep blue eyes on Jaime's green ones when they got back to their apartment. "Are you sure there's nothing wrong? Don't lie to me Kingslayer."

Jaime flinched slightly at the use of that name but it didn't hurt as much from her as from anyone else. "Nothing is wrong, my lady. Don't worry about it. I'm just not too eager to sit through an evening with my sister."

"And why is that, Kingslayer? I had heard you were close with your sister. Very close."

"Ahh," he winced,"so you've heard those rumors, then."

"Yes, I have. And what can you tell me about them? You should know."

Her tone was cold. Colder than my sweet sister's heart, Jaime thought uncharitably. What can I say that's neither a lie nor the truth? "I don't know who started those rumors, but they must be very cruel indeed. As my sister has said more than once, we are not Targaryens." Unfortunately.

"And why would she have occasion to say that?"

"You would be surprised," Jaime laughed uncomfortably.

Daena gave a small laugh to act as though she believed him. He's acting pretty suspicious, I'll still have to look into it this evening. She got up to go.

"Where are you going?"

"To bathe. Care to watch, Kingslayer?" She smirked at him.

He laughed. "Perhaps another time, my lady. I have to get ready, or my sister might kill me."

Daena grinned. "Alright, Kingslayer."
