After Varys left him, Littlefinger continued down the hall, but it was not long before someone else found him.
"Lord Baelish," Margaery said coolly,"I've been looking for you."
"How may I help you, Your Grace?"
"I think you know why I'm here, my lord."
"Well as I am in the business of knowing things, I could take an educated guess, but no, I do not know why you are here."
She glared at him. "If you must hear it, Daena told me what you did."
"And?" he said, projecting cheeriness into his voice. He loved annoying people, and oh was he good at it.
She glared at him again. "And I had a feeling that...you weren't just doing that for yourself."
He smirked. "You believe a certain queen was involved, I assume?"
Margaery looked around, as though checking to make sure they were alone. "Well, yes. Not that I doubt you would do such a thing for yourself, but it seems too good a thing for her."
"Well, Your Grace, you happen to be right. The Queen did ask me for a little help with something."
"What did she ask you to do?"
"Now why should I tell you that?"
"Why did you tell me anything?"
"Do you mean to ask why you should trust me? Because that would be a good question. Lord Stark trusted me, and look where that got him." They both instinctively looked towards the wall, though they were inside and Lord Stark's head was long gone. "Anyway, I told you what I did because it really doesn't matter to me. Besides, I'm sure they'll know soon enough. Cersei thinks she knows how to play this game, but in reality, she has no idea."
"What game?"
"Why, the only game." Petyr smiled thinly. "The game of thrones."

Daena was asleep when she heard a noise and jerked awake. She looked around dazedly for a moment until her eyes fixed on a faint whiteness breaking up the darkness, in the shape of a cloak. She looked further up and saw a head of golden hair. "Jaime," she gasped. He turned to her, then began to walk out the door. "Jaime, please just listen to me for a moment. Please." She heard him give a sharp intake of breath, then it seemed like forever before he finally turned to her and crossed his arms. She let out a sob when she saw his green eyes, dark with anger. "Jaime, I'm so sorry, but you have to believe me. I didn't do anything."
"I saw you, Daena."
She could see that he was trying to hold his anger in, gritting his teeth. "I know what you saw, Jaime, but please, understand me. I didn't try to do anything. I would never do anything to hurt you."
He couldn't take it anymore. "Well you clearly did! You kissed him back, Daena, I saw you! And now you're sitting here lying through your teeth!" He made a move towards her as though to hit her and she flinched away, squeezing her eyes shut. But the blow never came. "Gods damnit, Daena," he said, a sob escaping his throat. "How could you do that?"
Daena was shocked by this sudden change. She moved towards him, cupping his cheek with her hand. "I'm sorry, Jaime," she said softly. "He just did that out of nowhere, and I knew he wouldn't stop unless I kissed him back. And then I saw you," she broke off, a tear rolling down her cheek.
And they stayed like that, crying together, until they fell asleep in one another's arms.
