Chapter 10: War of Thorns Part 8
When everything had calmed down and the siege at Olga’s castle ended, Lance had only one thought in mind.
“What’s next on the menu?” Lance asked with a fresh smile.
“You want more!? Isn’t eating half of the reserves we had in the castle enough for you?” Olga yelled.
“Is that supposed to impress me? You still have half, don’t you?” Lance was having none of the yelling and barking from Olga, all he could think about was the meat he wanted to eat.
“It’s supposed to warn your little brain that what you are doing is putting everyone else into a dangerous situation here.” Olga yelled even louder than before.
“I can’t help it! I am going to suffer a lot of wounds and I don’t have the time to heal slowly!”
A shadowy figure wearing an assassins cloak entered the room guided by the constant arguing between Olga and Lance and to distract them he started clapping his hands.
“And who are you supposed to look like?” Asked Lance with a sarcastic tone, as he looked at the Count dressed up in dark clothes on the outside and with traditional noble clothes of a grey color on the inside and wearing the typical mask.
“It is what I expected of you, Lance.” Said the Count in admiration as his identity was easily revealed by Lance’s fine sense of smell.
“She described you very well.” The Count smiled as he mentioned Pandora.
“I don’t think I talked to her that often, for her to be able to describe me so well.” Lance grimaces.
“You seem to think that you were beyond her field of vision, when in fact you are at the center of it.” The Count smiled despicably, as began to taunt Lance.
“She is never far, but never close, and your little nose will be of no use, but I think you knew that already.” All these small taunts that the Count threw at Lance managed to enrage him.
“THEN TELL ME WHERE SHE IS, IF YOU KNOW SO MUCH ABOUT HER!” Despite what he said, his anger got the better of him and he tried hitting the Count, and only Olga’s intervention stopped him from landing his punch.
“Lance calm down!” Olga struggled furiously to keep him from moving.
“I will tell you everything I know, but only after our business with our current enemy is done.” The Count changed the tone of his voice from a jesting one to a serious one as he told Lance the condition he had to fulfill.
“Then please tell Olga to let me eat my fill” Lance said with an irritated voice as he released himself from Olga’s hold.
“Master, what exactly are you planning?” Olga asked while still looking at Lance with and irritated face as he saw him eating again.
“Me and Lance are going to finish this war, once and for all.” Olga opens her eyes in shock as she turns her gaze towards the Count, hoping to see that he was jo0king.
“I know exactly where the leaders and the elite warriors are stationed at, and I am planning to take them all out with Lance.” It was only then that she realized that the time she had to be with the master she respected was drawing close to an end.
“Then allow me to assist as well.” Olga insisted, but she soon realized that it was impossible for her to keep up with them.
“I am sorry Olga, but the people here need you.” The Count was obviously lying, but his message was clear enough.
“You know, that’s not a bad idea, if she dies she can be just as useful becoming my next meal.” Even though he didn’t want to, his joke is taken seriously by Olga who backed down.
Olga shudders as the Count stretches his hand to pat her on the head. Forcing Olga to fall to her knees in despair.
“Lance, what do you say we enjoy a little walk towards Willow Forest as we get to know each other better, since we are of the same kind.” The Count insisted as he signaled Olga to leave.
“It seems that you have a bad opinion about me.” Lance retorted.
“I am no bloodsucker!” Lance stated with a stern look on his face.
“ Of course not, you are a barbaric creature., but when I meant that we are the same, I was referring to our blood, it is cursed.” This reminded Lance of his encounter with Pandora.
Lance grabbed his chest as if it were on fire, as flashbacks of his past bring back the pain she caused him.
“It’s useless to act innocent with me, I know what happened and you deserve you’re punishment. She is the kind of person who cares very much for her friends, and you insulted her gravely.”
“Enough! I will finish your bloody war and after that YOU will take ME to HER.”
“Of course!” The Count said.
