Chapter 16: War of Thorns Part 14
After just one step forward, both Lance and the Titan disappeared, only the flashes of sparks that appeared all over the land confirmed that they were still here. As claws clashed with earth, a dull sound was created, which echoed around the land that was now dead silent.
And just when things seemed to have calmed down, the Titan appeared in front of the Count in an attempt to kill him only to be blocked by Lance. Having once again disappeared, their high speed fight continued for another minute, but the difference between the two became obvious.
“It seems I win.” The Titan stated, as Lance was unable to move having several pillars pierce his stomach, hands and feet.
“Guuaaarghhh!” Struggling to free himself, Lance screamed in desperation as he broke one of the stone pillars holding his right arm.
“Stay there while I deal with your friend!” As the Titan took another step without looking back, another 5 pillars pierced his hands and feet.
The Titan walked with obvious haste towards the Count as he sensed the power coming from him getting stronger with every passing moment. But just as he was ready to deliver the final blow, the bubble around the Count collapsed signaling that the ritual was completed.
“Behold Titan, The Scythe able to kill existence itself, “Sonzai Kieru”. After revealing the scythe to the Titan, he had an unexpected reaction.
A grin of pure malice flashed across his face as his hand went to grab the scythe, but stopped before actually coming into range.
“You have shown me something quite interesting today, cursed blood! The fact that this scythe is still in this world…” The Titans voice trails off into inner thoughts as its gaze studied the scythe very closely.
“Unfortunately God of the Old Age, that will remain a secret as you are going to die here!” The Count said as he readied his scythe to attack.
“Seeing that I can no longer win, I have no reason to risk my existence, goodbye!” As he said this, his body began crumbling away.
“Damn it, fight me again! I won’t leave it at that!” Sensing the force from the pillars weakening their hold, Lance broke out of his restraints and punched the Titan in the face, almost stopping his departure.
“As Lance said, we aren’t going to let you go, you will die here!” Using his scythe, the Count managed to superficially slash the Titan’s stomach.
“You dare threaten me! You shall regret it!” The Titan yelled with all his might.
Enraged the Titan attacked the Count, slamming his fist against the Scythe and grabbing it, but the Count left it in his hands, as it already had a mind of its own, and attacked the Titan trying to eliminate his existence, after having already tasted part of its existence.
The Titan managed to let it go before he was eliminated, but was in turn attacked by Lance who combined Fenrirs Spike with Fenrirs Claw, into his right hand, and managed to pierce his chest.
“Ugh!” The Titan turned his head and with an almost empty gaze, promised Lance eternal pain for his defiance.
Having recovered possession of the scythe the Count went for the final blow, cutting the head with “Sonzai Kieru”.
“THIS IS NOOOOT THE END!” The body crumbled into a pile of useless rocks which vanished soon after as the Scythe devoured them, but the unsatisfied growl from the scythe signaled that they failed in eliminating the Titan.
“You may have escaped today, but soon our master will start a war with your wretched kind, and end it once and for all.” The Count said as he looked at the sky in anger.
“He escaped?” Lance asked.
“Partly, his physical body was destroyed but he escaped before his astral body could be destroyed. It will take time for him to heal what he lost, but you will meet him later, make sure you finish your fight properly…!?” Upon stating that, the Count fell to the ground.
“Count what’s wrong... !?” Moments later, Lance also fell unconscious.
The Count fell to the ground, having no more energy in his body after having summoned the Scythe “Sonzai Kieru”, Lance also collapsed after having fought such an exhausting battle, and the two fell asleep right on the spot without any care in the world.
End of this saga, the next few chapters will be something like fillers but relevant before I start the next saga.
