Chapter 28: Freak Encounter 6
The fight between Freakshow and Rasara began with a flurry of fast punches given by the challenger. Forcing Freakshow to shield himself from most of them, but he stood his ground as he endured the ongoing attack.
However, this seemed to have been a mistake, as the punches that he continued to block, began to grow heavier, steadily pushing Freakshow back, until he was with his back against the wall of the arena.
“Heh! It’s time for the Bull fist.” Rasara threw a punch straight at Freakshows face, fast enough to make Freakshow react slowly to it.
“The Gate of Death!” Sensing how dangerous this attack was, Freakshow forced himself in order to properly block it.
On impact the fists power was greater than what Freakshow expected, and the leather straps holding the swords to his hands broke, forcing Freakshow to abandon them as he dodged out of the way.
But just as he rolled on the ground to avoid the attack, he got hit by a kick from Rasara, which was powerful enough to throw him through half of the arenas length.
“A man without his weapon is like a human without legs, death becomes inevitable!” Rasara said with anger, as he headed towards Freakshows motionless body.
Lying motionless on the ground Freakshow seemed completely defeated, but nobody from the public was the least bit surprised, and continued to watched with a weird anticipation on what was going to happen next.
Just as Rasara Vig got within striking distance, Freakshow got up and used his arms in such a motion that it seemed like he was pulling something from behind Rasara.
As he turned around to see what Freakshow was doing, the two blades managed to pierce his body, one in the left leg and the other in the abdomen.
Left speechless, Rasara Vig turned to face Freakshow, while blood was pouring from his wounds.
“What you said earlier, I couldn’t agree more!” With that said, Freakshow pulled his swords out of his body and delivered the finishing blow.
“…” Freakshow stood silently over his opponents body as he stared at some empty space, or so it seemed to everyone else. But a few meters above, a wooden gate was wide open as the soul of the defeated was sucked inside, and closed itself with a horrifying creak.
“I get it now!” Lance said, forcing Scorpio to ask him what he understood.
“What did you understand?”
“It wasn’t the leather straps that were helping him hold those swords. Very thin invisible wire connects him to those swords. Probably the only reason he uses those leathers straps is to not harm himself while manipulating the swords from a distance.” Just as Lance said, Freakshows hands were bleeding while he was leaving the arena.
“But you know, it’s pretty sick to force a seven year old kid to do such things. I can hardly imagine what that kid is going through, each time he kills somebody. And these people are just as sick, enjoying this display of brutality and death.” Lance said spitting on the ground with disgust.
“If you hated this kind of thing, why did you join it?” Scorpio asked curiously.
Before Lance could answer, a sword came flying through the balcony, barely missing Lances head.
“Hey, what was that for!?” Just as Lance grabbed the sword wanting to throw it back at Freakshow with anger, he heard his voice.
“Are you worthy enough to get me to the gates of death?” Freakshow asked with a frustrated voice.
“What are you talking about?” Unable to understand his words Lance asked him to elaborate, but Freakshow pulled his sword from Lances grasp and finally left the arena, leaving behind a confused Lance, and an entire audience who interpreted that gesture as a challenge.
“What was that?” Scorpio asked.
“The kid is searching for something, and I think he is expecting me to help him find it. You think I am up to it?” Lance asked rhetorically while laughing.
Scorpio on the other hand stood silent, watching Lance leave the balcony while deep in thought whether what he just witnessed earlier should be reported to the Landlord.
“This guy is a real game changer, but can he change somebody’s way of life?” Scorpio asked himself while watching the masses of people leave as the day came to an end.
