Hunting for my mate

Chapter four

Skylar’s POV

We made it back to the pack house at 6:59 right on the dot and we separated to put our clothes away. I ended up being so tired that I just crashed at 7:20 and had a long and needed beauty sleep...

Lazily opening my eyes I grabbed my phone to check the time, 11:42. Not bad. I noticed my wolf was silent which was a delightful surprise. Happily I jumped out of bed and went have a shower. I washed my hair with my orange shampoo and conditioner then scrubbing my skin with my body wash. Stepping out of my shower I felt fresh and clean.

After wiping the condensation off the mirror I wrapped a fresh, plush towel around my body. Studying myself in the mirror, I walked back to my room, going into my closet I looked around to see what I would wear for the next few hours before I get ready for the party/ banquet. Putting on a pair of grey sweats with the elastic around the waist and ankle’s and a teal tank top I walked downstairs.

While walking I saw Mark smirking at me before he smacked my bum. As soon as his hand made contact I grabbed his wrist and pulled him into a headlock. Once he stood up he leaned forward thinking I would lose my grasp but caught him off guard by jumping on his back and tackling him to the floor. Sitting on his back to keep him down I grabbed his right arm and left foot pulling them together causing him to wince in pain.

Dropping his leg and arm he flipped over to face, shock clear in his features. I leaned my lips tickling his cheek as I whispered, “that’s just a sneak peek of what I will do to if you ever do anything like that to me or anyone quite frankly. Understood?” I snapped. He gave out a nervous nod while gulping. Pecking his cheek I stood up and continued my hunt for food and noticed Lisa looking at me with wide eyes. I smirked and threw her a wink as I opened the door to the kitchen.

“You’re up late?” Alice stated in a questioning form.

“Yeah, it’s weird, but I am in a really good mood which is good.” I replied walking over to the pantry and grabbing two breakfast bars. Walking over I sat next to Alice and noticed she was a little off. Depressed? Nervous? Both?

“Hey it’s okay, there is nothing to be scared or nervous about, okay? Plus I am going to have a little chat with him before anything and I mean anything happens, okay” I smiled and she nodded giggling.

“Okay, your right. So do want to go for a run before we get ready?” Al asked.

“Sure I would love to!” I said excitedly as I finished my last bite, throwing out my garbage I walked into the living room.

“Derek Alice and I are going for a run. I’ll see you later; call me if you need anything.” He nodded and looked back to Lisa continuing their conversation. I jogged out the door to catch up with Alice and continued to walk to the clearing. We separated to change into wolf form after tying our clothes onto our ankles.

“Come on!” I mind linked Alice as I started to run a direction. We ran an easy pace through the forest until we heard multiple footsteps and low growls. Looking at Alice, faced each other and simultaneously yelled “Run!” While sprinting to our max back to the pack house.

While running I felt a playful shove from behind and noticed that it wasn’t Alice because she was right beside me I picked up my pace and mind linked Derek… “Derek! We are about 5 minutes away from the pack house and are being chased by a rouge pack of some start, can you send some guards and get out here please?!” I asked returned by his quick reply, “already on it!”
