HAVEN's POV
It sucks! Hahaha! It sucks that I am in love with that person who cant love me back. It sucks na marami akong plano o pinapangarap na gawin with her but she's not mine. It sucks that I get jealous a lot but what right do I have? She's not even mine. It sucks that everybody's enjoying their time fucking or loving their girlfriend right now while Im all alone here at the acoustic bar, nag sasarili. Yung iba, may hawak na flowers. Mukha naman silang mga paso sabi ni senyora santibañez. Ako, bote ng alak ang hawak ko.
"Alright, another request from Ara. Jealous by Nina. Para daw sa mga taong umasa at umaasa pa sa taong may iba na." Narinig kong sabi nung babaeng kumakanta sa stage. She started singing. Hahaha! For the first time tonight, hndi LOVE SONG! Nakaka umay yung mga love songs na pinapatugtog kanina eh.
"Next song! Pangarap lang kita from Precious. Para daw sa idol nyang andito. Wowww! Miss Haven from McCartney University is here. Where is she? O there she is! I see, the basketball idol is alone on Valentine's day." Sabi nung singer. I just smiled and raised a glass.
"She's not the only person who's alone here." I heard someone say next to me. Napalingon ako. Whoaaaa. What a beautiful lady who is sittinf next to me... alone and drinking a cocktail.
"Are you looking for a heart's day companion to hire for a night? Baka makapag apply ako." I smiled at her. Im not trying to be flirty or anything. She darted a dark look at me and ignored me. "Look, I can be a fortune letter sometimes. I know how to read fortune, yung sa palad?"
She rolled her eyes as she moved her attention to me. "Okay, try me."
She opened her hands and showed me her palm. Hinawakan ko ang kamay nya at nakipag hand shake. "I foretell that we can be good friends. I am Haven."
"Chloe. Chloe Rae Iñigo." She half smiled.
"So um... what are you doingh here? Wala ka bang kadate?" I asked her. Nakaharap ulit sya sa bartender table at naka attach ang mga labi nya sa straw.
"Uso ba ang dates sa Valentine's day. Wala ako non eh. Di ko nga alam na nageexist tong araw na to eh." Sagot nya. "Ikaw? Bakit di ka tumulad sa mga tao ditong nagdala ng dates at naglalampungan?"
I chuckled. "Yung mahal ko kasi, in love sa iba."
"First love mo ba yan?" She asked
"Hahaha! Pwede." I grinned.
"First love never dies daw. Gusto mo patayin ko sya?" Malamig nyang tanong
Tumawa nalang ako. "You're harsh."
"and so is love, Heaven." She glanced at me
"My name is Haven, Chleo. Not Heaven." I chuckled.
"My name is Chloe, not Chleo." She chuckled. Oh finally! Napatawa din kita. Hahaha!
"Im sorry... Haha! Chloe. So um, mag eemote ka ba kaya andito ka?"
She smiled. "Obvious naman diba? Ikaw? Nag eemote ka din ba? Tinotorture mo din ang sarili mo at nag eemote ka kung saan maraming couples? Kung gusto mong palibutan ng mga naglalandian, don tayo sa park. Baka makahuli tayo ng nag ooral kasi nagkaubusamg ng kwarto sa motels."
"Ikaw? Bakit dito ka din napadpad. Dapat pumunta ka nalang sa bahay mo at doon nag emote." I said
"Gulo mo! Wag nga natin pagusapan. Ang hard naman nyang iniinom mo. Whiskey!!"
"Pabebe naman yang sayo." I grinned. Inirapan nya ako. Hahaha!
Chloe and I talked about stuff. Masaya din naman syang kausap. "So, let's talk about this girl? She's in love wth someone else? Why cant you just forget about your feelings?"
"It's not that easy, Chloe. You know, sometimes... there will always be that one person that you cant walk away from even though you have to. I cant, Chloe. Ikaw? Why cant you just forget about your feelings?"
She smiled at me. "Bata palang kami ay gusto ko na sya."
"That sucks. Hanggang kailan ka ganyan? Mamamatay ka ng ganyan?" I chuckled.
"Ewan ba! Nakipag date na ako sa ilan kaso... sya talaga ang mahal ko eh." Chloe mumbled as she started stirring her drink with a straw. "I wasnt the right one for her but she was the right one for me... it's been her all this time." She mumbled
"She cant be the right one for you if she cant love you back. Alam ko din na yung mahal ko ngayon ay hndi rn sya yung right one for me.
Minsan kasi, may false hope tayo. Sometimes, we're in love with someone. And lovin that somone is like reaching the stars. We know we cant reach it but we gotta keep trying because who knows? It might fall. Hahaha!" I laughed
"You know what, Haven? I find this comversation interesting. Let's continue this outside the bar, shall we?" She muttered.
SO YEAH! Here we are... walking in the streets of Blackwell! Love is in the air!!
"It sucks that we cant make someone love us... when techinically speaking? They made us love them." Chloe mumbled as she was holding a can of beer. Wala akong dala so I just placed my hands inside my pockets.
"What we are having right now is LA DOULEUR EXQUISE." I told her. "It is the heart wrenching pain of loving someone unattainable. Damn! This is bullshit." I frowned.
"La dou shit what?" She chuckled. "Let's forget about them for awhile. Haven? Panget ba ako?"
I looked at her at kunwaring pinag aaralan ang anggulo ng mukha nya. "Nope. I think you're beautiful."
"She doesnt find me beautiful."
"Maybe she does. The thing is? Hndi ka lang nya mahal." I told her
"Tangina, sakit mo magsalita." She punched me playfully in the arm.
"Totoo naman eh. Maganda ka." I chuckled.
I drove her to a condo where her friend lives. Her friend's name is Samantha. After dropping her home, napatayo muna ako sa labas ng condo building to answer a call. After answering a call, may nakita akong matandang nagbebenta ng flowers. 11pm na, andito pa sya? Hayyy kawawa naman.
"Manang, magkano po tong bouquet nyo?" I asked
"Ah, 700 anak. 300 nalang para sayo."
Napakamot ako ng ulo. Gusto lang makabenta ni Manang. "Ah. Bilhin ko na po yang tatlo." Sabi ko. I handed her three thousand bill. "Keep the change manang, uwi na kayo." I smiled at her saka ako tumakbo pabalik sa unit na tinutuluyan ni Chloe.
The Sam friend opened the door. "Uhm, can I talk to Chloe for a sec?" I smiled apologetically.
Chloe appeared in front of me. "Hi, Chlo. If she doesnt find you beautiful, for me... you are. Happy hearts day. It's nice to meet you."
