"I said I'll never let you fall, and I always meant it"

With my body being trapped underneath the bedsheets, all I could focus on was the heat from Dan's chest. I planted a kiss on his chest and giggled. I linked my hands together around his lower torso and focused on his breathing.

'Good morning, love' he said in his raspy, morning voice. 'Morning, Daniel' I greeted back, holding tighter onto him. 'Why is it that you're the one waking me up today?' He chuckled.

'What can I say? I'm full of surprises' I teased. 'Of course you are, sweetheart' he said, ruffling my hair. 'Hey!' I snapped.

'Today's our last day together at the beach' I pointed out with a frown drawn on my face. 'I know, I know..' He whispered soothingly. He cupped my cheeks and inched closer to me, giving me a delicate kiss.

'Y/N, we should go to the buffet before the lady comes down' he said, referring 'the lady' to a girl who cuts our line and devours half of the food aligned on the tables.

'Yeah, you go shower first, I'll plan on my outfit' I told the boy. 'Sure?' He asked. 'Yeah, I'll be fine' I insisted, while rolling my eyes at him. He laughed lightly, while turning on the shower.

'Y/N! Daniel! Come over here!' Mrs Howell piped

'Y/N! Daniel! Come over here!' Mrs Howell piped. 'Come over here, you lovebirds!' Mom joked. We both grunted, while approaching our family. Noah went out of the scene to take a picture of us all.

I forced a smile onto my face, while flash flickered into my eyes. 'Alright gang!' Noah cheered, causing both Dan and I to cringe in unison. 'Gang' I mimicked his voice, 'Yuck!'

Fast forward--

Things are going great between Dan and I. We are together for two months now, and I couldn't ask for more. People exchange us weird looks every time we walk down the hallway together— as expected.

'Y/N!' Dan cheered, tackling me into a hug. 'Guess what?' He piped. 'What?' I asked him, with a smile curling from the edge of my lips. 'My friend from Greece is coming over for three months' he announced.

'She's going to stay in a dorm though, not with me. Her name's Alina, and she'd be learning with us in the same school!'

'That's cool' I faked my enthusiasm, showing him my gritted teeth. 'Is she here today?' I asked him, trying to not show my jealousy in my voice. 'Yeah, she's a really nice girl once you get to know her, though' he insisted.

I nodded my head, and sighed. 'Look, I know what you're feeling. And no, there's nothing going on between us, I promise you love' he smiled weakly. I looked up at him and blushed. He darts his eyes onto mines, and held my hand.

He leaned closer to me, and was going to give me a kiss until someone cleared their throat in front of us. Dan snaps his head tongue right and looked to see who it was. 'Alina! Nice to see you!' He chirped.

She ran up to him, and pecked his left cheek. 'Nice to see you as well, Danny' she laughed. I can't help but feel a bit of rage inside of me. 'This is my girlfriend, Y/N' he introduced.

Alina smiled at me brightly, as if it was an exaggerated smile. It was so crooked. 'Hi there' she greeted, with a small wave.

'Hi Alina, it's nice to see you' I grinned. Maybe I was overreacting. Maybe she was decent and wouldn't try to ruin a relationship I believe was stable.

'You guys feel like ditching?' Dan asked. 'It's my first day of school here Danny' Alina grumbled. 'Oh, I forgot. Sorry..'

Dan, Alina and I went to a restaurant that I usually drink my Cherryade at, and eat my Mac and Cheese at. It was a retro looking restaurant, and it was the restaurant both Dan and I went to for the first time together. It was a special place for us, as a couple.

'Y/N, Ali, I'm just going to the toilet' Dan stated, shooting up from the seat. 'Alright' I said, smiling. Alina gave a final check to make sure Dan's really gone.

She sighed heavily, while dropping her hands on the table. 'Y/N, I need you to listen' Alina snapped icily.

I lifted my eyebrows up, while looking at her. 'I'm listening...'

'I need you to breakup with my Danny' she ordered. I was on the verge of spitting my Cheerryade drink all over her caked face. I gulped down the drink before I could do so. 'Alina, it's a no..'

'Dan and I were meant to be' she stated firmly, 'And you're just a petty obstacle that's blocking a beautiful relationship from happening. Honey, he's just with the wrong girl...'

I was starring into space, while I laid on his bed. He got out from his bathroom, and smiled at me. 'Sweetheart, you look down. What's going on?' He cooed, lifting my chin up, so my eyes can be on the same level as his.

I sighed. 'Dan, Alina told me that I need you to breakup with you' I said sternly. He looked at me, in disbelief. 'She said I'm just a petty obstacle that's blocking a beautiful relationship from happening' I said.

'That's a lie, Y/N. I've known her since I was seven, for crying out loud. She's a caring, friendly, honest and a loyal friend.' The way he complimented her caused me to flinch from the sudden pang of hurt I felt in my chest.

'Trust me, she's too good for whatever nonsense you're making up'

'Nonsense, Daniel? You don't even believe your own girlfriend. I am not lying, Howell!'

'Well, I know her more than I even know you!'

'What does that mean?'

'You can't just create bullshit to make me avoid someone, life doesn't revolve around you!' He yelled fiercely.

Taken back, he looked at me with concern. 'Y/N...' He said softly, his finger grazing my cheek. I slapped it away from me. 'No Dan! No! You know what the worst part of it is? It's that I actually cared for you. I actually feel butterflies in my stomach whenever you smile, and try to keep it together when you touch me' I said, with tears rolling down my eyes.

'I try so hard to be the perfect girlfriend for you, but you let Alina ruin it. Save it Howell, I'd rather be hurting inside by myself...'

I stormed off, but he's grabbed tightly on my wrist. 'Wh—' I was cut off with a kiss.

'I remember when you said that you'll never let me go' I said now, with more hope in my voice, his breath tickled my collarbone. 'And I never did'

'Look, I should've believed you when you said that Alina really told you that. I'll promise you that I'll build more trust in this relationship' he smiled firmly.

'Promise?'

'Promise' I hooked my pinkie with Dan's.
