"You're hard to hug, tough to talk to, and I never fall asleep"

I tucked all my clothes in my luggage, being ready for the upcoming field trip which involved camping. 'Did you pack your mosquito repellent in?' Emerson asked me. 'Yes Em, now leave' I huffed angrily.

'Before I do, there's a girl waiting for you. Blonde girl' he informed. 'Louise?' I questioned. Emerson shrugged and left. 'L!' I cheered, 'What are you doing here, L?' I asked. 'Wanted to know if you were interested in going to the carnival?' She suggested.

There was a local carnival hosting, and tonight was the last night the carnival will allow entry, which meant double the people would enter. 'Yeah Lou, would you mind if I bring my boyfriend to?' I asked, shyly.

'I invited his best friend as well, so of course not!' She piped. 'Thanks, L' I blushed. I dialed his number, tapping on my feet nervously. 'Hi, this is Dan. Leave a message after the beep. BEEP!' His voice screeched, causing me to wince.

'Hi Dan, I was wondering if you'd wanna be my date to the carnival? Reach me as fast as you can. Bye. Y/N, by the way' I informed. I sighed heavily, as I turned off my phone. 'Come on, Louise' I gestured her out.

We drove, and jammed through Panic! At The Disco. I suddenly felt my phone buzz. Thank god Louise is driving. 'Hi, Dan' I greeted, a bit too anxiously.

'Hi' he said. Afterwards came a long, awkward pause. 'Look, as much as I'd love to go to the carnival with you, I can't. I'm busy, and I'm so sorry' he said sadly. 'Oh' my voice dropped. 'I-it's okay, Dan' I stammered. 'I'm fine' I insisted.

'I knew that you'd understand. I promise that I'll make it up to you-- just not now' and with that, he hung up on me. 'Was that Dan?' Louise questioned me. 'Yeah' I answered, with my voice soft. 'Well, is he coming?' Louise asked.

'No' I grumbled, with my brows furrowed. 'He told me last minute. For a second ago, I actually believed that we'd spend quality time together' I frowned. Louise patted my back reassuringly. 'It's okay, Y/N. We can spend quality time together' she smiled.

'You're the best, L' I giggled lightly.

It's now the day where I, Y/F/N, go camping. I'm usually not that fond of camping, and admiring the outside world, but I was assured by friends that it'd be just great. We stayed in the school bus, that was an all girls' school bus.

'Hey, Y/N' Yumi snickered, 'Nice shirt'

I rolled my eyes at her, while the others giggled. 'Fall Out Boy sucks and you know it' Paris added. 'And you swallow, P. Everyone knows it' I said smugly, referring to the time she gave her ice skating coach-- you know-- 'oral'.

She scoffed, and sat down. We all sat there in silence since after the heated encounter with Paris. I yawned, resting my head on Louise as she chuckled lightly.

As I watched the others having a bonfire outside, I shivered inside my tent. Dan was talking with some other girl about Pokemon, while I glare at the two with envy.

Pj and Amorie were talking deeply, while I just sighed glumly. The sky was painted in a blue-to-white ombré. The sounds of the faint bird chirps were soothing, and the chilly breeze caused my teeth to clutter.

The smell of the burnt marshmallows made my stomach grumble, and God did I want to eat them. Louise waved her hand at me, gesturing me to sit with her friends.

'These guys are Tyler, Connor, Shane and Zoe' Louise introduced. 'Hi' they waved at me in unison. 'H-hi' I stammered. I glanced swiftly at Dan and some girl, and frowned. 'Aren't Dan's girlfriend?' Tyler asked, sounding puzzled.

'Yeah' I answered, with anger in my voice. 'Why is he with that bitch Dylan? She's a slut for dicks' huffed Shane, causing us to chuckle. Dylan inched closer towards Dan, and placed her hand in his, while smiling with him.

A tear rolled down my face as I shot up from my seat. 'Guys, I'll have to go back to get my mosquito repellent' I said, dashing away rapidly. My breathing hitched, while I tried to hold back my tears.

Just when I was about to enter my tent that I shared with Louise, I noticed Pj in front of it. 'Hey, that's my tent' I growled, shoving him aside. 'Um-- it's mines' he corrected softly. My face burnt red when I realized that I was wrong.

'S-sorry' my voice trembled, I turned around, and he stopped me. 'Why are you crying?' He asked in confusion. 'Get off my case, you're an ass' I growled. 'Speaking to me might help, regardless of how much of an ass I am' he insisted. 'And I never actually apologized to you about the party incident...'

I sighed, 'I can't believe I'm gonna talk about this, especially to you' I sighed. I let out a sharp breath, as I patted a place inside the tent, gesturing him to sit beside me.

'I always wind up being the jealous one that always gets paranoid in a relationship.' I admitted, feeling the pain that was bottled up inside my chest being released into thin air. The feeling was great.

'And seeing Dan ignoring me for three days straight made me frustrated' I said, 'You can't really blame a girl for being jealous. It's like blaming a girl for caring about you, and not wanting to loose you' I added.

'I could tell her Dan really likes you, Y/N. Yeah, he was a prick to you years ago, and called you names. But try looking beyond that and try walking in his shoes. Every Monday, I'd hear him talking about you endlessly in the boys' locker room, saying how lucky he is for having you. Out of all these girls in the world, he chose you. This one girl. You must be really special to him'

'Look, the thing Amorie and I; we've been friends since forever, and I always had feelings for her. And to ask you out, I didn't really intend to hurt you, I was just in a vulnerable state. And the reason why I chose you was because you are just as intelligent and bright as Amorie. And for some reason, I was so eager to kiss Amorie, because I can't let go of the feeling of loving her. I'm sorry' he said.

'T-thank you for your candor. I just really think that we shouldn't talk after this, because there will always be tension between us' I said, 'I promise you I wouldn't talk to you after this' he assured.

'In 3...2...1...' We both counted in unison, and left. I pretended to not know him and left him behind.

'Pj' I stopped him. He paused, and turned around to face me. 'Thanks'
