The hustle of the new town I'm in wales me up again, making me sigh.

I had arrived here a couple days ago and I'm still not used to it.

Multoru was always quiet and the people were nice.

Here was basically the New York of the new world.

People were always talking loudly out in the streets, carriages were on the roads twenty four seven.

In other words I kinda wanted to get kicked out of this place.

Spirit was still asleep in the small backyard where I left him, but it seems as if he hated it as much as me.

My elbows rest on the window sill, staring up at the sky.

I look at the time, jumping at the sight.

I had to be at work in two minuets.

My feet pound down the stairs as I run to the door, opening it and locking it before bolting down the street.

The people here never seemed acknowledge me, so I left them alone too.

The grocery store is just up ahead, and I almost slip as I run inside.

"Petra. You need to get here on time." My boss scolds, tapping his foot on the ground.

I smile lightly.

"Sorry sir." I mumble, grabbing my apron from the hook on the wall before heading over to the storage room.

As I head over one of my coworkers runs up to me, a slight grin on her face.

Her hair was blonde, and she had bright blue eyes.

In ways she reminded me of Lindee.

"Hey Petra. Was the boss scolding you again?" She jokes.

Since she was the only person in this town that seemed to really care, I didn't mind her jokes, even if all of them were terrible.

"Oh Melanie, you know me so well." I say, dramatically putting my hand over my heart.

She smiles brightly, pushing open the double doors of the supply room.

Even though I hated this town, I promised myself that I would make an effort here.

"So what time do you have to work til?" She asks, grabbing two packing boxes of cereal.

I grab three of them.

"Around five, why?" I ask, carrying the three boxes as if they were nothing.

Melanie wasn't a strong person, so whenever I did simple things like this, she always looked surprised.

"Same here. Want to grab a bite to eat after?" She asks as we walk towards isle seven.

I smile, nodding.

She walks further down the isle as I stand in front of the right cereal, unpackjng the boxes slowly.

Unlike the rest of the town Melanie didn't seem so..... What's the word?

Rude?

She may be the only person in the town that I consider as my friend.

So... Why can't I forget about the one person who I thought I could trust?

I shake my head, pushing away the thought.

"So, you look distracted." Melanie says, leaning on my right shoulder.

I hiss in pain, jumping back at the random sharp pain.

She looks at me in shock as I hold my shoulder, wincing.

"Oh my god are you OK?" She asks as I feel like my shoulder is being torn apart.

I nod, straightening my back and trying to hide it.

"Yeah, I'm just going to go check on something. Cover for me?" I ask, running away before she can answer.

My feet carry me to the staff bathroom, where I lock the door behind me.

I throw my jacket on the ground, looking down at the mark on my arm.

I find myself almost screaming as it glows black with a bright blue eye.

"God no." I whisper, taking my jacket and pulling back on.

The apron that fell when I ran in is on the floor, making me pick it up.

I bolt out of the now unlocked door and to the front of the store.

"Sorry Sir, but I have to take care of something!" I shout as I throw the apron towards him.

"Petra! You can't just leave!" He shouts after me, but I'm already out of the store.

The people of the town move effortlessly around me as I run down the side walks, not really caring if I bump into anyone.

The small house they let me live in comes into sight and I burst through the door, closing it loudly behind me.

"Mig! Box out!" I shout, making a mechanical noise sound from upstairs.

Not two seconds later does the robot rush down the stairs, looking worried.

"Did you get fired?" He asks immediately, making me cross my arms angrily.

"No!" I defend, making the robot's glowing eyes roll.

"Sure you didn't." He mumbles.

Gee, what a great friend.

"Why is my dragon mark glowing?" I ask flat out, taking my jacket off the show him.

He moves his head closer to my shoulder, seeming like he is examining the mark.

"Not sure. Nothing like this is in my data base." He responds, making me rub my temples in frustration.

This doesn't make sense.

This whole mark is too odd to handle!

"Then why the hell do I have it and how did I even get it all those days ago?" I ask, feeling too confused.

Mig sighs in a robot way before walking into the tiny living room.

"I don't know Petra. There might have been some sort of explanation back at the mansion, but I have no way to get it." He states, making me shake my head.

There is no way I am going to get back there and out with a pile of books.

"Fine, then I will just have to deal with it." I grumble, walking lazily up the stairs.

"What should I do now?" Mig asks, sounding like he really means "do you need anything?"

I look back at him, feeling tiered even though I only just started the day.

"Just, box in." I mutter, trudging my way up the stairs, completely forgetting about the job I left.

How can I focus on anything when this thing is glowing through my clothes?

I find myself in my room, the bed looking as if it could be a rock.

My feet carry me to it anyway, slowly closing my eyes to try and rest through this pain.

Third Person

A small light goes off in a lab, filling the room with blue light.

In the background, somewhere else in this place, rapid footsteps sound from the hallway.

A man bursts through the doors, running through the dark room to the little light bulb.

It blinks, reflecting on his tiered pale face.

"Its time." He whispers, the look on his face grave.

"I just hope she knows what to do." He mutters, looking across the room to see the same bright blue glowing in the eyes peeking from the dark cage.

The man himself is nervous, and he hopes to god, that the anointed one will finally come and save them all.
