Angela couldn't believe a whole month had passed since they began moving. Things seemed to calm down a week ago. Justin had dyed his hair pitch black. He was also growing out his facial hair.
The changes in appearance was helping them a lot. But she didn't lose hope. If she had a chance she would be accidentally discovered. She was working double time now that they had crossed to another state for the second time.
"Baby come here," Justin says patting his thighs.
Angela walks over and sits on him wrapping her arms around his neck. He pecks her a kiss on the lips.
"I think we can make it here," Justin states, " at least until i contact my family. "
"Yeah its quiet here. People mind their own damn business," she states.
" I haven't heard our name in the radio for the last week. Maybe they didn't catch us crossing this border like the last," he says.
" Maybe they don't think we would be leaving the last place so quickly," she says giving him a peck.
" As long as they leave my family alone," Justin says looking at Ellie.
"I got to go make a quick run to the store," she says getting off his lap.
"We'll go with," Justin says standing up.
"Baby I'm low on cash. So i gotta sneak. I can't run for it if i'm watching Ellie," she says.
"Okay but be careful angel baby," Justin says pulling her into a kiss.
Angela exits the apartment they were staying in. The store was ten minutes away. Luckily. She enters get grabbing a basket. Today was all about Ellie. She needed more clothes. She was going through a growth. Getting at least six little outfits. She slowly walks around the store. Managing to stuff four around her torso. Underneath her baggy black tee.
Walking by the auto station in the store. She lets go of the last pink polka dot dress. There was no way to take it without being obvious. She was noticing more and more workers around her. So she decides to bail. Sneakily she exits through the tire shop.
Suddenly her arm gets caught. She reacts with her instincts. Pulling the gun out off her waist and pointing at it at her aggressor. Her eyes go wide when its no other than Tony.
"Put that down before you make a mistake," Tony says.
"What...?How?" She stutters.
"Collin got a hit of you and I went with my instincts," Tony steps forward, "I know you been leaving hints so we can find you. Even after all the appearance changes."
Angela looks around, there was no way she would be capture now. Ellie was on her own without being able to protect her.
"There is no one here besides me," Tony states, "not counting the security you are attracting by stealing."
Angela takes a couple steps back. Checking her surrounding carefully.
"Look at yourself. Are you going to let him control you? I done my research. Every store and stop. Your face is plastered. Where is he in all of this?! Hiding in the dark while you sink deeper into the charges being put against you!" Tony screams.
"Tell me why I was handed to him then?!" She yells back.
"What are talking about?" Tony asks.
"You where gone! As well as my restrains and the officer at the door. No one stopped him! He had Ellie in the car outside. They let him get away with her!" She yells.
Tony stays silent for a minute. His sight is lowered and in that instant she reacts. She swings the gun hard. Against the side of his face. He tumbles sideways and lands on the ground. She takes off running as fast as possible.
Angela enters the room gasping for air. Justin is quickly on his feet grabbing her by the face.
"What's wrong angel baby?" Justin asks.
"Police," she says.
Without another word he picks Ellie up from the bed and puts her into the car seat. She grabs two backpack on the side of the entrance. Quickly they make their way into a small black car.
Her head is scrambling things together in her head. Justin speeds off quickly. Ellie begins crying hysterically. She tries her best to calm her down but she was too scared by the sudden movements.
Tears appear in her eyes as she realizes she had given up on her one priority. Ellie safety.
