Reader's POV
You sat quietly in the backseat thinking about how you were going to apologize to Dave. You still loved him. The tinted windows were rolled down to let in the cool breeze that ran across the peaceful town of Oak Creek. You watched as the small houses rolled by and the buses picked up kids from their driveways. The car passed a tallish boy. He had familiar blonde hair and mysterious black sunglasses.
You blinked as a tree passed between you and the boy. Dave. He must walk to school!
"Stop the car!" You shouted, banging your fist on the driver's seat. "Stop the car!"
The driver obeyed and pulled over to the side of the road. You pushed open the door, stepping onto the sidewalk pavement. Youcalled, "Dave!"
The tallish boy turned. It was Dave. He waved. You told the driver that you were going to walk to school, grabbed your backpack, and jogged happily over to him.
You gave a wary smile. "Look, I'm sorry-"
"No, there's no need to be sorry. It's my fault, I shouldn't have kissed you," he admitted, looking straight forward.
"You shouldn't have broken up with me either," you joked, trying to break the tension. "I would've forgiven you. And I do. I forgive you, Dave Strider."
His shoulders stiffened. "So, what," his voice cracked. "We're going to go back to the way we were? After yesterday?" Wet tears spilled out beneath his glasses. "You pushed me away yesterday. It hurt. And now you're coming back to say that you're sorry."
You blinked your eyes and looked down at your feet. You were wearing black converse {deal with it or fight me- i guess you can have vans BUT JUST THIS ONCE actually i like making you all happy so forever if i say converse you can change to vans if youd like okay continuing} and they were all muddy. Just like your heart.
You sighed, but the fact that your shoes don't have holes in them fills you with determination. "Can we start over?"
Dave's POV too lazy to center
"Can we start over?"
The conversation with Dirk from yesterday came flooding back. Start over. Make her fall in love with you all over again.
I smiled. "My name is Dave Elizabeth Strider, and I attend Oak Creek Highschool. Who might you be?"
The new girl grinned back. "My name is (Y/N) (M/N) (L/N), and I attend Oak Creek Highschool as well."
I began to walk towards school. "I have light blonde hair and red eyes, which someone once told me were beautiful. I wear lots of red, white, and black, and prefer apple juice over anything you could offer me. I make sick beats on my turntables, often blasting cool jams throughout my apartment building."
"I have (h/c) hair, (e/c) eyes, and my favorite color is (f/c). (f/d) is my favorite drink, (f/f) is my favorite food, and I really like the name Riley {deal with it}. I can most likely be found doing school work, art, listening to music, or playing Minecraft {deal with it i thought it was funny}. I'm a nerd, fight me."
"You are very beautiful," I told her. I studied her wondrous (e/c) eyes as she squinted at the sun.
"You are very handsome," She told me.
"I think we should hang on sometime," I said, taking off my shades, even though it was very bright out.
"Me, too," she answered as I handed her my glasses. She smiled, sharing a silent thank you in her eyes. (Y/N) slid them on to cover her own eyes from the sun.

(Y/N) introduced me to her new friends, Maddie and Michaela. Maddie had purple hair, which apparently had been previously silver. It was long, longer than Jade's hair. Michaela had blonde hair and blur eyes, and often downplayed her smarts. Maddie reminded me of Nepeta, Feferi, and Jade, while Michaela reminded me of John, Kanaya, and Terezi.
I had a feeling that we were all going to be good friends, and that (Y/N) was happier here than back home. I stopped and corrected myself; this is home.
