Vann watched his friends with a visibly strained expression. Just outside of the ally where they were standing, the rest of the town was busy going about their own business. The noise of daily life was dulled slightly in the secluded area, but was still quite loud. Vann paid it no mind. Humming, Adan leaned back against the ally wall, staring at Vann.

“I see…” he said calmly, a hand on his chin, “So that’s what happened.”

Vann stared back at his friend with half lidded eyes. “You…don’t believe me, do you?” The dragon asked, irritation in his voice. Adan hesitated before responding.

“No, not really.” The taller teenager replied honestly, “You expect me to believe that that someone managed to violate the ‘Blood Law’ that exists for every virtual reality on the NET? From what I’ve heard, that law is virtually un-hackable. I’ve never heard of that being done before and even if it were possible, who would be so stupid as to use it in a video game?”

“I’m telling you the truth!” Vann gritted his teeth, “And if that’s not enough for you…” He said in a low voice, “Then explain to me-” Adan’s eyes widened slightly when a young woman with blond hair was pushed in front of him.

“-WHERE THE HELL SHE CAME FROM!”

“I apologize if I wasn’t clear before. To put it simply, I am a part of the Matrix Key.” The woman told them. All three boys raised their eyebrows. The four of them were sitting around a table in a small tavern in Start Town. The woman was sitting in a wooden chair, her posture slightly stiff and guarded. Sitting on her right was Vann, who was resting his feet on the table and was leaning back in his chair, his hands behind his head. Rallen, on her left, openly gaping at the woman while Adan sat across from her, his arms crossed as he listened calmly.

“The Matrix Key?” Vann repeated. She nodded again. Adan cocked his head.

“What exactly is that Miss, uh, what is your name again?”

“Name?” The woman looked slightly confused, “I don’t have one.” She replied, almost no emotion in her voice. Vann cocked his head and stared at her strangely while Adan and Rallen both raised their eyebrows in surprise.

“You… don’t have a name?” Vann asked. The woman nodded again. Adan frowned.

“You have to have a name, everyone has a name.” he said. The woman shook her head.

“I do not. Though technically, my program was called B1-U3.” She paused, “Admittedly, that does not quite roll off the tongue. So, if you must name me, then call me by whatever my master wishes.” The woman replied, seemingly uncaringly.

“…Um, your master?” Adan frowned. The woman turned to Vann.

“The one who activated me. You are my master.” She said to the blue haired teenager, whose eyes were wide.

The Dragon stared at her, “Wai…I…did wha-”

“What’s this!?” Rallen cut him off, leaning over into his face, “Vann! What is this!? Why’d she call you Master? No! Don’t tell me!? Is she your-!?”

“You’re much to close.” Vann hissed as he kicked the warrior in the face, sending him falling back out of his chair. “And you,” he said, looking over at the woman, “That’s the second time you’ve called me that, what’s with you?”
