The clock near the side of the bed showed eight thirty. The sheets rustled slightly as Vann’s turned onto his side, snoring. The curtains on his window had already been pulled aside, allowing the morning light to shine into the room, illuminating the sleeping boys form.

Perched on the desk, the computer hummed quietly. From within the screen, Blue watched the teenager slumber with a slightly irritated expression.

“Honestly…” She sighed, shaking her head, “How long does he plan on sleeping?”

In response, Vann shifted again, now facing the ceiling, his mouth hanging open. Blue’s eye twitched, fighting the urge to yell.  Noticing the black headphones that covered his ears she blinked,  her eyes trailing the cord that led into his computer.

“Hmmm…”

A moment later, Vann shot up in his bed, his eyes open wide as his ears were pelted with blaring music.

“Yaaaaaah!!” he cried, yanking his headphones off his head, “What the-!?” He turned his head left and right before he turned to glare at his computer.

“You!” He shouted, “The hell was that for!?”

“You’ve been sleeping for over ten hours.” Blue replied, her expression emotionless as she stared back at him, “We should be looking for clues where we can find the next piece of the Matrix Key.”

“Are you kidding me? It’s Saturday!” Vann groaned, falling back onto his bed, “The only thing I should be doing today is sleeping.”

Blue opened her mouth to respond but froze when the door to Vann’s room suddenly burst open, his Aunt sticking her head in, looking irritated.

“Oi! Vann! What’s with all the noise? Who’re you shouting at?”

Vann flinched under Brianna’s glare, “Eh!? N-nobody! I was…on the phone!” Vann said hurriedly, waving his arms. As his Aunt raised her eyebrow at him he quickly glanced at his computer. Blue’s face had disappeared from the screen, leaving it black. Brianna stared at him for a moment with a suspicious look on her face, putting her hand on her hip.

“…You’re not hiding a girl in here are you?” She asked.

“W-What!?”

“I might actually have to be proud of you.”

“What the hell does that mean!? And I’m not!” Vann exclaimed, making an X with his arms. Brianna frowned at him, cocking her head.

“Hmph…well whatever, come on down when you want breakfast.” She told him, turning and leaving his room. Vann scowled and crossed his arms, glaring at the empty doorway.

“Che…what kind of person does she think I am?” he muttered. Blue’s face reappeared on the screen.

“Well technically-”

“Shut up!”

THE DEEP

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The air was filled with the roar of the city as cars rushed through the streets, the occasional bus hovering over them. Shining buildings lining the streets towered into the sky, some even breaking through the white clouds above. On the first floor of one of the smaller buildings stood a small shop, a sign hanging over the entrance, reading ‘Korrans Circuits’.
