A streak of purple and white split the black sky, cutting through the dark clouds and striking the earth in the far off distance. Moments later the roar of thunder shook mountains. The very air seemed to tremble. The towering structures of stone appeared to quake under the roar of the storm, the gusts of wind blowing violently and breaking upon the rocks.

FABLES of FANTASY: 15
LONE WARRIOR

Deep within the mountains canyons, lightning was reflected in steel. The white haired man sneered at the two before him, tightening his grip on the twin scimitars in his hands. Thunder rumbled through the mountains as Vann and Blue glared back at him. Sucking in a breath, the Dragons eyes narrowed in fury, his vision still slightly blurred from the pain.
“Damn it.” He hissed, “What’s another Hacker doing here?” He felt Blue stand up beside him, turning to face the white haired man.
“He’s no doubt after the Matrix Key piece we recovered in Fanghorn Forest.” Blue said to him, her eyes never leaving the smirking Hacker. Her eyebrows furrowed in anger, “…I just didn’t think they’d send someone so soon. Damn, I was foolish.”
Lagger chucked darkly, stepping towards them and sending a cold chill running through Blue body. She reflexively stepped back, her hand quickly wrapping around the hilt of her sword. A bead of sweat formed on her brow as the very air around them got thicker with each step of the Hacker before her.
This guy… His killing intent is incredible. I can feel it from just his gaze.
His blades whistled in the wind as he twirled them lazily in his fingers, his footsteps echoing off the canyon walls.
I can already tell-
The metal of the swords rang as they were suddenly snapped into an iron grip, the hacker lowering himself into a fighting stance just a few meters before them.
-He’s nothing like the Hacker we faced in Fanghorn!
“What’s this?”
Blue’s eyes widened at the Hackers icy smooth voice. His eyes seemed to shine as a twisted smile spread across his face.
“What kind of looks are those? Come on-” Lighting flashed in the sky above as steel was raised. “Get your game faces on!”
Blue reflexes barely saved her as Lagger suddenly charged forward, his twin blades cutting in an arc at her head and torso. Light poured from her sheath as her enormous sword sprang out into the open. Swinging it forward she barely managed to catch both blades before they reached her. Sparks flew as the steel slid against each other. Blue gritted her teeth as she pushed back against her opponent. The Hackers sneer only grew as he fought back, digging his feet into the earth beneath them.
“Not bad, Program.” He hissed. Blue’s eyes widened when she felt her feet slip.
“But not good enough!” he shouted. The A.I. cried out when Lagger suddenly leaned forward and pushed his blades out, sending the blond woman flying back.
“Blue!” Vann called out as the young woman hit the ground and slid back across the earth. The Dragon attempted to push himself up but suddenly fell forward as another wave of pain shot through his body. His nails dug into his palm as he clenched his fists, gritting his teeth and hissing. Narrowing his eyes, he started to push against the ground once again but froze when he suddenly found the tip of a blade before his eyes.
