Chapter 6: Friends?

I walked out of the Common Room as quickly as possible. I went into the Great Hall and picked out something to eat. I could see random girls shooting me death glares or gossiping about me. That includes Opal Malle. The only girl who seemed not to have anything against me yet was Lily. But I didn't want to make friends with her. She could've stood up for me in the Common Room last night, but she sent Opal to do it. I sat at the Gryffindor table, picking at my eggs and bacon. Normally, I would eat all of it (I love my bacon) but I wasn't in the mood to eat after last night. Professor Mcgonagoll gave everyone their timetables. I heard two people walk behind me. It was Lily and Opal.

"I have the same classes as you?! DON'T sit next to me. Ever." Opal cried. I rolled my eyes.

"Stop it, Opal. Sapphire, I have the same classes as you, too." Lily said with a smile. I smiled back at her, a bit shy.

"Do you...wanna maybe, sit together?" I asked, expecting a no. She nodded and grinned, to my surprise.

She laced one hand through mine, and the other through Opal's. Opal looked disgusted with Lily, and stalked off. We watched as she came up to Sirius, and smiled her winning smile at him.

Lily rolled her eyes.

"I'm really sorry about her, Sapphi-"

She was cut off by Remus and Potter.

"OH MY GOD, REMUS! We have the same classes as that thing, but also with my dear Evans at least." Potter said in disgust toward me. I shot him a look. It was meant to look angry, but it looked more hurt. Lily shot him a death glare. She turned away from him, smiled at me, grabbed my hand.

"Let's go to Charms, Sapphire!" I nodded and we left the Great Hall to go to Charms. I take it back, I did want to make friends with Lily. She is the first real friend thus far.
