Sirius' POV
I woke up to birds chirping and wind whistling. I looked at the time and to the bed next to me. It's eleven in the morning and Sapphire's not in bed. The bathroom door is open, so she's not there either. Sitting up, I rubbed my eyes, adjusting to the light. A few minutes later, I changed into a t-shirt and jeans. I brushed my teeth and fixed my shaggy hair.
I walked down the stairs and smelled eggs, but no one there. Just a plate of fried eggs and bacon with a smiley face. Sapphire. I grinned and ate it, then walked outside, where their lake was. I saw her sitting there, strumming her guitar and singing.
"The story starts when it was hot and it was summer and
I had it all
I had him right there where I wanted him
She came along
Got him alone
And led to the applause
She took him faster than you could say 'sabotage'
I never saw it coming
Wouldn't have suspected it
I underestimated just who I was dealing with
She had to know the pain was beating on me like a drum
She underestimated just who she was stealing from
She's not a saint
She's not what you think
She's an actress
She's better known for the things that she does on the mattress
Soon she's gonna find
Stealing other people's toys
On the playground
Won't make her many friends
She should keep in mind
She should keep in mind
There is nothing I do
Better than revenge." (A/N: 'Better Than Revenge' by Taylor Swift.)She stopped and sighed. I gaped at her, her beautiful voice stunning me yet again. I took a deep breath.
"You sing great, you know that?" I said, running my fingers through my hair when she turned around.
"I've been told." She laughed. "Y-you heard that?" Her smile faded. I nodded, a little confused.
"Oh, o-okay." She stuttered and I wasn't sure why she was suddenly nervous.
Sapphire's P.O.V.
"There is nothing I do
Better than revenge."I stopped and took a breath.
"You sing great, you know that?" I heard. My head snapped in the direction of that voice, my eyes finding Sirius, running his fingers through his hair.
"I've been told." I laughed, thinking of all the people that told me that. It was nice of them, actually. "Y-you heard that?" I asked, my smile fading. The song was about Devil. It wasn't meant to be heard by him, but Sirius nodded.
"Oh, o-okay." I stuttered, but I didn't know why.
"So was that you who made me breakfast?" He poked me playfully, settling down next to me. I let out a laugh.
"No. That'd be my mum." I said.
"Oh." He muttered and I rolled my eyes.
"Disappointed?" I asked.
"Very." He winked, making me feel uneasy for some reason.
"If you want me to forgive you, you're gonna have to earn it." I said, standing up and pulling off my sundress, revealing a black studded bikini.
I dived in, hopefully splashing Sirius.
I heard a scream.
"Hey!"
Success. I grinned under the water. I decided to frighten him, too. I stayed underwater, holding my breath and laying on my stomach like a starfish.
"S-Saph?" I heard him say. I tried my hardest not to laugh, or it would blow bubbles. "A-are you okay?"
I mentally rolled my eyes. I heard how he cautiously tried to get in the lake. He got closer and closer to me, so I jumped out of the water and screamed in his face, causing him to fall backwards and into the water.
I think we're friends again. I just hope it stays that way.
James' P.O.V.
"We have to go to the store, mate." I told Remus. He came over for the summer to my new house. The new house is bigger, and I think, better than our old one.
The two of us had to get some stuff from the store across the street.
"Yeah, I'm coming." He told me as he opened the door. We walked out into the blinding sunlight and across the street. We walked past two houses before hearing splashing coming from a fenced backyard.
"YOU SCARED ME!" A familiar male voice said.
"I was going for that." A girl said, sweetly.
"Now I'm wet and my hair is ruined." The boy said angrily.
"Too bad, so sad." The girl laughed. Remus and I turned to each other.
"Is that...?" He pointed to the backyard.
"It is." I caught on. We ran to the backyard. We tried to jump over the fence covering it, and when we finally did, we walked towards the lake. Coming closer cautiously, we saw the two faces joking around in the water. Our two best friends. Sapphire and Sirius.
"Hello!" Remus screamed. They turned around.
"James? Remus?" Sapphire's eyes widened.
"Yeah." I smiled. They walked out of the water. Sirius was wearing a t-shirt and jeans, but was soaking wet. Sapphire was wearing a black bikini. She blushed at us slightly staring and put on her sundress.
"What are you guys doing here?" Padfoot asked.
"My new house is just two houses away." I told them, beaming.
