(A/n: This chapter is intended to be a little bit educational. If you see italicized words with center blockings, those are notes written in Daisuke's notebook. If you want, you can takes notes of it, too. XD ^_^ )

Recap:

"I just don't think I'm suitable for love at the moment. If I try again, I'll just be turned down like before and that won't do me any good. There is a right time for that."

Dark chucked a bit. "You're turned someone down just because you don't want to be turned down again," he told him.

"I know I did but I didn't intend to offend her," Daisuke defended himself from his alter-ego, "I'm sure Ms. Riku understands why I did it."

"Sure hope she does..."

The image formed by a mirror can be real or virtual. A real image of an object is formed by actual intersection of reflected rays and is formed in front of the mirror inverted. Virtual image, on the other hand, is formed behind the mirror and is upright relative to the object. There is no actual intersection of reflected rays.

"Ms. Riku won't do the same thing I do," Daisuke concluded while writing and flipping the next page, "She'll definitely find another guy who is more suitable to her than me."

"What does that supposed to mean?" retorted Dark, "I thought you like her."

"I do," Daisuke answered directly, "But I don't think our relationship should go any deeper than friends..."

The center of curvature (C) is the center of the sphere from where the mirror was taken. The vertex (V) is the center of the mirror, which is sometimes called the pole of the mirror. The radius of curvature (R) is the radius of the sphere, which is the distance between C and V. The aperture (AB) refers to the width of the mirror. The principal focus (F) is the point where the reflected rays meet as in the case of the concave mirror, or the point where the reflected rays come behind a convex mirror. The focal length (f) is the distance from the pole to the principal focus. Since the principal focus is midway between C and V, the focal length is one-half of the radius of curvature.

"Hey, Dark."

"What?"

"Shouldn't I be asking you the same?" Daisuke closed his notebook and book, setting his pen to the desk. He believed to be half-way done already, so why not focus on his conversation with Dark this time.

"About what?" Dark replied calmly.

"About Risa..." Daisuke was being cautious when he mentioned the name of his old crush. He was no longer in the mood to pick on a fight with Dark, seeing his alter-ego may be way too defensive at times.

"Oh, I see that you wanted to bring that up again..." concluded Dark, "We already got over it, haven't we?"

"I know," replied Daisuke, "but I just want to talk over it again... why you stopped seeing her all of a sudden."

Dark sighed in partial annoyance. "I did that because the longer I made her happy, the more she will be devastated," he said monotonously, "face it, that's the destiny."

"So, it does apply to me as well," Daisuke concluded, "That's why I broke up with Riku... I don't want to hurt both of us anymore..."

"IDIOT!" Dark snapped. "You are not a phantom thief like me! You don't have an 'endless existence'," he said, gesturing the word with his fingers. "You are lucky you get Riku by yourself, and here you go... letting her go," he mumbled.
