Recap:

When the last bell finally rang, we were all dismissed. I separated from everyone, making sure I wouldn't seem suspicious at all. I just need some time to think, rehash my memories of the current circumstances, making sure I wouldn't consider them as dilemmas.

"I have a sorceress staying in my house, who came from another dimension. She was recently got hooked with the phantom thief's heists and is currently in danger of being captured by the police."

I started walking a little bit faster, paying attention to where I'm heading.

"I know that Satoshi Hiwatari is a police... and I can't let him find out my connection to his suspect." I glinted my eyes. "Moreover, I hold another secret that I can't let anyone in class know about... Because if they do... I'm dead."

I started running away.

--------------------------------------------------

"Try to catch me if you can!" Dark shouted as he dashed through one of the widest street on the underground city, dodging all the traps he could see while outrunning a mob of police officers.

"Quit fooling around!" Daisuke scolded from the inside, "We might get into trouble."

"Don't worry about it, Daisuke," Dark told him reassuring, "As long as the Golden Light is with us, there will be nothing to worry about."

"You get too excited," Daisuke muttered, "And that what I am worried about."

"Is that so?" Dark chuckled, "There's nothing more exciting than being chased by the police once in a while."

"But whenever you get too fired up, we always get into trouble," Daisuke added, partly annoyed.

"Well, not tonight," Dark confidently told his alter – ego from the outside.

- FLASHBACK –

"Yaaah!" said Daisuke as he slumped on his study table. He just finished a pile of short homeworks early in the afternoon. He did it about less than an hour since he arrived home. Of course, he was exhausted, but he has nothing to do. "I guess I should take a short nap."

"Even if it is just short, you will not be able to sleep early tonight," Dark commented from within.

"So you are awake after all." Daisuke sat straight on his table, pilling up his books and setting them aside. "I thought you were asleep the whole time."

"Nah! I just woke up a little earlier."

"We haven't had a heist for more than a month now," thought Daisuke, "I kinda miss the thrill, but I don't want to think of the danger that lies ahead."

"That is part of the Phantom Thief's duty, Daisuke," Dark reminded, "There is no thrill without danger."

"Honestly, how could you last this kind of job over the years?" wondered Daisuke, "You're always the one who gets to face all the danger and the police are always after you." Daisuke pouted. "Even at school, they are after us."

Dark chuckled. "I also don't know how, but I enjoy what I am doing. So, I'm not quitting."

"At first, I didn't want to be you," Daisuke admitted, "But you are an amazing person that I could look up to all the time."

Feeling touched by the redhead's thoughtful words, Dark smiled warmly inside. It was a smile Daisuke could imagine him not showing, since he always wear a taunting smirk across his face. That thought made Daisuke smile just as well.
