(A/N: This will be the next biggest resolve in the story and will be the penultimate chapter for this story. It is a DaRiku ship, btw ~ )

Recap:

At the Niwa basement, Emiko and Daiki, while dressed on their monk robes, have lit the fire on their sacred table. That fire have projected everything that has happened to Dark and Daisuke while they were out. It made the entire family aware of everything that has happened.

"The time has ripen, hasn't it, Dad?" Emiko asked.

"Yes," Daiki agreed, "His ultimate wish will finally be granted..."

------------------------------------

Just as Daisuke decided to head home and whipped around, the thumping in his chest grew louder and more uncontrollable. His cheeks has a shade of crimson, undeniable and cannot be concealed. He started heading home, but after several steps, warmth grew in his chest and it dramatically increased until it hurt so much.

Dealing with all of these, Daisuke began sweating profusely. He squeezed one eye shut and clutched his chest.

Satsuki broke out of her hiding place and approached Daisuke.

=My POV=

I didn't think that I will have to do this. Expose my cover just because I can't help watching a friend in pain? I'm not that evil, neither am I...

I just don't know how he will react when he finds out that I'm eves-dropping and I saw everything.

I walked up to him, but he didn't notice me coming. He ventured forward, trying to ignore whatever feeling's trying to obstruct his way. But after he took another step, he dropped on his knees.

I ran to him and pulled his arm over my shoulders, helping him up. Then finally, he noticed that I'm there. He turned his head to look at me with his tired eyes and saw my warm smile at him.

"Satsuki... why are you here?" he asked wearily.

"I came here to help," I replied jubilantly. "It looks like you can't really be left alone, huh?"

"What?"

"That was a close call back there!"

He finally smiled. "Yeah!"

Then, he looked around at the completely messed up place and looked back at me, staring and halting his feet.

"You've gotta be helping me move, too..." I teased, "I couldn't carry you home."

"Do you just happen to be passing by?" he asked all of a sudden, his tone in its sharp edge.

"Yeah..." I trailed, sweat dropping. I must have said something I should have. "Why?"

"This place is a complete mess and all the other people went home before this predicament took place," he replied. "How come you are still here?" He glinted his eyes.

"Were you here the whole time?" he added.

I nodded in surrender. There was no point of arguing. He'd definitely figure it out because he has to figure it out anyway.

"Dark has set a meeting with the wizard that lives in your house here," he said, "And the rest happened after it. She met with her comrades and left-"

"I know," I replied, casting a wry smile in my face, staring at my feet. Not a single tear fell. There was no reason for me to cry.

"She told me to tell you about it because she couldn't anymore. You'll never see each other again."

It was sad, sad that we weren't able to have a decent farewell. "I understand..."
