Chapter 30(Bella's pov): I walk into an empty bedroom and lock the door behind me. "Kayla? Love, please answer, say something please," Zayn begged from the other end of the line. He was in tears, sobbing hysterically. "I just need to hear your voice one last time." He continued, sounding suicidal.

"Zayn, Im here, please don't," I say quickly, my voice cracking at the end. He couldn't just kill himself. He just couldn't. I didn't know my leaving would hurt him this badly. "Kayla?" He said, as if he couldn't believe it was me. "I," His voice broke. "Kayla, Im so sorry." He said, stressing the word so. "Zayn." I say quietly, loving the word on my lips.

How could I just leave him?

"Kayla, I love you." He said plainly, still crying. "Please don't call me Kayla." I say, trying to hold back the tears. "Of course my love, anything for you, Isabella." I could hear the smile in his voice. "Zayn, where are you?" A tear spills across my cheek. "Where are you?" He counters. I smile slightly. I still don't think I should tell him. "I don't think its a good idea for you to come here yet. Later." I say, trying to make him understand.

"No, I miss you too much." He protested. "Zayn, please, I'll tell you in a few months when Im settled down here, ok?" He doesn't say anything for a second, I can still hear him sobbing quietly. He clears his throat, "Please, Isabella." He pleads, "You don't understand how much I need you in my life. Its only been four days and.." His sentence trails off.

"Zayn, listen to me. Find someone else." He starts to protest but I stop him. "It doesn't have to be a serious relationship. Just get your mind off of me, ok? Just a few months, three tops." I finish. There's a pause. He sighs. "Will that make you happy?" He asks simply. "Its the only thing that will make me happy." I state firmly.

He sighs again, obviously not liking the idea of being with someone other than me. "I'll try, for you." I smile. "I love you, Zayn." There's a short pause. "I love you too, my angel." Another tear rolls down my cheek. "Can I FaceTime you?" He asks cautiously. I wipe away the tear quickly. "No, another time." I don't want to see him. I'll break down and tell him where I am. "Just for a minute. I need to see you." He pleads. I sigh. "Fine, just a second." I say. I hold the phone up and press the FaceTime button.

A second later, I see Zayn. He's different. His face is thin and pale. His eyes are red from crying, with dark bags under his eyes from lack of sleep. His usually full lips are chapped and pale. His hair looks like it hasn't seen any styling product for weeks, its unruly and matted. His eyes are dim and dull, with no life at all. Its the worst Ive ever seen him before.

"Kayla." He gasps instantly. I don't say anything. His transformation from a gorgeous human being to the mess I saw now was astounding and horrifying. "Zayn, what happened." I whisper, terrified. It looked like he hadn't eaten a thing since I left. "You leaving happened." He said, smiling sadly.

My tears are falling faster now. "Don't cry, my love." He croons. "It hurts me to see you cry." I try wiping away the tears. "Zayn, I didn't know.." My voice cracked. "You didn't know what?" His sad smile grew. "You didn't know I loved you?" He chuckled a little, still searching my face lovingly. I don't say anything, words unable to pass my frozen lips.

"You're so beautiful." He whispers in awe. "I remember the first time I saw you. My first thought was, wow, she's an angel." He said slowly, smiling at the memory. "Remember the first thing I said to you?" I smile at the memory and nod, wiping away the tears. "You were at the mall with your friends shopping. I remember me and my friend, Alex where checking you and your friends out." He laughs slightly. "I only had eyes for you though."

I remember it was just a while after my parents died. I hadn't smiled a real smile in what seemed like forever. "It took a while for me to actually say something to you, I was so nervous." I giggle immediately. "I remember saying, can you touch my cheek," He stops to laugh with me. "Can you touch my cheek so that I can tell my friend here that Ive been touched by an angel?" I remember that was the first time I really smiled ever since the accident. We laughed together about the memory. I had always loved corny pick up lines.
