(A/N: This story is going too slow, let's kick it up a notch. *cracks knuckles* Owie 😢)

-Haru's Home-Living room-26 Days Till Prefecturals-
Y/N was laying on the pull-out couch, curled up like a sleeping kitten as she clung onto the pillow. Any blanket that had been placed on her body dismissed, as the ex-mermaid tossed around constantly.
"Y/N." Someone whispered, placing a hand on the female's shoulder.
Gasping at the warm touch, Y/N sat up quickly, accidentally bumping heads with her waker. "Owie." The (H/C) whimpered, rubbing her pained forehead. Glaring at whoever had awoken her, her (E/C) hues widened as she realized who it was. "Awa?" She asked in disbelief.
The woman, who looked to be about the human equivalence to her teacher's age, smiled bitterly at Y/N. "It's been a while, hasn't it?" She asked, gently taking a strand of Y/N's (H/C) locks and wrapping it around her petite fingers.
"Awa-Sama, I'm confused, how did this all happen?" Y/N questioned, tears beginning to fill her eyes.
Awa sighed, wiping any stray tears, before locking her fingers around the amulet that Y/N kept around her neck. "This. It was hidden in that ship for a reason." The pink haired woman stated.
"What is this? You know, don't you?!" Y/N asked, sounding like she was demanding an answer.
Awa nodded. "It's called the Nami* Key, it has more power than the trident, and can control both land and sea. Because of that, it had turned you human." She explained. "And because you're so young, it has trapped me within it in order to use me as a guardian for you."
"You're trapped in the key?!" Y/N asked, eyes wide in shock as she tightened her grip on the iron charm.
Awa stared at the younger female for a minute, before nodding. "And it's because I am your guardian, that I've come to warn you." She stated. "The Nami Key is one of the Heaven Keys, as I had said before, this one key is very powerful. Many will do anything to get to you in order to collect all Heaven Keys."
Y/N bit her lower lip, staring at the floorboards as her mind raced with these thoughts.
"When the other keys get near you, you'll feel a burning feeling in your chest. It will warn you so that you'll be able to get away quickly." Awa warned.
"Are you telling me that somebody else who has a key is a part of these thieves?" Y/N questioned, her eyebrows furrowing together in confusion.
Awa huffed, as if Y/N was acting like some sort of troublesome child, though a smile soon crossed her lips. "I have my suspicions. But there's also the fact that they might collect a few of the other keys first." She pointed out.
Y/N, still confused on the matter, could only nod her head. The two then turned their heads towards the stairwell, hearing footsteps along the upstairs floorboards.
"There's not much time left, I must tell you one more thing before I go!" Awa quickly stated, grabbing both of Y/N's hands. "I know you haven't noticed this yet, but the gems on the key are pink." Y/N sent her teacher a sharp glare at the comment, before glancing at the key. To her surprise, the once topaz blue colored gems were now a bubblegum pink hue. "The key gets it's power from the ocean, the longer you're out of it, the quicker the power deminishes. If you're not careful-"
"I'll become a mermaid again." Y/N gasped. Her eyes widened as she gripped onto Awa's hands firmly. "I can't let that happen! I've made so many friends and I've gotten so accustomed to this life!" She exclaimed.
Awa's lips puckered into a thin line, staring at the young female with a hint of pity in her cyan colored eyes. "Each gem will turn back to blue in a certain amount of days. If you do not return to the ocean by the time the last gem changes, you will be turned to sand."
Y/N bit her lip, trying to keep the tears from pouring to this news. "That's not fair!"
Awa silently shushed the (H/C) teenager as a light flickered on. "I'll come back when I can." She whispered, kissing the top of Y/N's head.

"No, Awa!" Y/N screamed, sitting up immediately, only to end up having a coughing fit as her throat began to feel sore.
"Y/N?!" Turning her head to the side frantically, the young female's gaze locked on the worried figures of Makoto and Haru.
"Are you alright?" Haru questioned, crouching so he could stare into the female's (E/C) colored eyes with his own cyan ones.
Tears pricked at her eyes once more, shaking her head back and forth furiously as she flung her arms around the stoic male's neck and began to cry into his shoulder.
"It was just a bad dream." Makoto sighed, sounding as if he was trying to assure all three of them.
Oh how was she going to tell them the truth?

(Nami: Ocean
A/N: Y/N is talking a lot because it's a dream. Just thought I should clear that up incase somebody got confused.)
