Ch.15: Prefecturals (Prt.3)

-Prefecturals-Day 2-
"Are you sure about this? You haven't practiced for the relay at all, right?" Miss Amakata asked Haru and Makoto.
"I don't know how we'll do, but we'll give it our best shot." Makoto smiled. "And this isn't our first time." He added.
"But it is for Tako-kun." Y/N reminded.
"Nagisa-Kun and Rei-kun still aren't here yet." Gou added suddenly.
"Sorry we're late!" Nagisa's shout surprised the group as said two males ran up.
"Man, what were you guys doing?" Gou asked.
"Actually..." Both males grinned. "We were practicing the exchange in the pool at school!" They announced together.
"Good job!" Y/N held up two thumbs while the others looked shocked and confused.
"Haru-chan. I'm thrilled that we get to swim in a relay together again." Nagisa smiled at Haru.
"Time to show everyone your training has paid off! I even brought this!" Y/N proudly pulled a blow horn out of her satchel she brought.
"So much enthusiasm. Alright, let's go!" Gou laughed.

~Rin's POV~
"Matsuoka-Senpai! Come with me! Quick!" Hearing the earnest voice of Niitori, I was unwillingly pulled from my thoughts.
"What is it?" I asked. "It's not time for Samezuka's relay yet." I told him, monotonously.
"No! Nanase-san's club is in the relay!"
"Huh?" I looked at him in confusion, before I realized what he had said.
Without a second thought, I began to race towards the pool, leaving Niitori behind.
They signed up for the relay? I gritted my teeth as I glared at the group of four.
"Set...Go!" As the timer started, Makoto jumped back into the water, beginning his familiar backstroke that I hadn't seen the day before. His stroke...a rough but dynamic stroke that leaves everyone behind. It hasn't at all changed since then. That's Makoto's stroke! I thought, remembering the last time I had seen him swim backstroke. And I can't forget Nagisa's stroke. How he speeds up after the turn...and how he creatures the illusion that his arms extends when he swims...And him... My eyes narrowed as the blond switched with their newest swimmer. Is that supposed to be butterfly? My eye twitched. Pathetic. Why is someone like you swimming with them?!

~Y/N's POV~
"Go, Rei!" I cheered into the megaphone, beaming at seeing how far ahead the guys were, even with Rei slowly lacking behind just a little bit.
Relays are amazing. It takes a lot of teamwork to be able to pull this off!
I paused as it got to Haru's turn when I noticed the dot of red near the pool. Rin? I blinked, before shaking my head and putting my attention back onto my teammates.
"Go, Haru!" I shouted into the device, watching at he made it past the third, then second place swimmers.
"He's in second! Second!" Gou and Miss Amakata cheered beside me.
"We won!" I laughed, wrapping my arms around the two other females.

~Normal POV~
"Now if you excuse me, I just had a small stroke." Y/N murmured, going slack in the other female's arms and turning ghostly pale.
"N/N-chan?!" Both women asked nervously, only to chuckle afterwards at her dramatic response.
