Ch.5: You Have to Get Over It

-Iwatobi Pool-46 Days till Prefecturals-
Y/N's senses slowly started to come back. First touch, where she felt someone pushing her back and forth forcefully. Second, hearing, where she picked up the sound of yelling from a female's voice, a whining Nagisa and Rei, and the worried voice of Makoto. Thirdly, her sight, where she saw at first shapes, then the bright blue sky, and finally the worried faces of Makoto and Haru.
"Y/N-San!" Makoto called out in relief, causing the other three to rush over as well.
"Quick! N/N-chan, how many fingers am I holding up!?" Nagisa shouted.
Y/N deadpanned and flicked the blonde's forehead.
"Owie! Why'd you do that?" Nagisa pouted cutely.
Haru quickly handed Y/N her notebook, in which she wrote-
"Baka!? You're so mean, N/N-chan!" Nagisa cried.
Y/N released an inaudible sigh, before hugging the blonde and patting his head affectionately, as the others watched in confusion.
"Why did you faint anyways, Y/N-San?" Rei asked.
Y/N and Nagisa both looked at the other Swim Team members.
Y/N then shuffled away, looking down at her hands in embarrassement.
"S-Swim." It came out in just barely a whisper, but everyone stared in both awe and shock at the (H/C), who looked surprised herself.
"You wanna swim?" Makoto questioned.
Instantly, Y/N shook her head back and forth, before staring the others with a look of fear in her (E/C) orbs.
"Y/N-San...Are you afraid to swim because of what happened at the islands?" Rei hesitantly asked.
Y/N slowly nodded, before looking straight at Makoto and Haru, as if trying to get them to quickly change the topic.
"Well it's nothing we can do about that. We have to practice for Prefecturals!" Gou, surprisingly, was the one to save the (H/C).
Quickly the others agreed, while Y/N simply sat on the sidelines, as far from the pool as possible.

-Haru's House-Later-
"Y/N, you have to at least take a bath!" Makoto exclaimed.
Y/N stubbornly shook her head, staring at the tub from the doorway in terror.
"Why not? Humans have to take a bath." Makoto told the female, placing his hands on his hips and looking at her with the motherly expression of 'Stop being difficult and do as I say'.
"B-but...w-what if I'm not Human after I take the bath?" Y/N quietly questioned.
Earlier that day, the group had found out that the female had selection mutism, where she was only able to talk to people she trusted. So far that would be the Swim Team...Somewhat.
As if just realizing the females actual fear, which he just did, Makoto's gaze softened.
"I doubt that getting into the water would turn you back into a Mermaid. Now get in before Haru-" Just as Y/N began to shuffle into the bathroom, Haru had rushed in, only in his bathing suit, and practically dived into the tub.
"Haru!" Makoto shouted.
"She'll get over it." Was Haru's only reply, before sinking into the water until his nose was just barely covered.
