Star.

He laid against the grass, his eyes absorbing the stars that shimmered brightly against the dark, midnight sky. Each one took turns blinking vibrantly and constantly, connecting into a sudden shape of a halo. After blowing out a breath, he slowly sat up, and fiddled with the soft, green grass. He tore some pieces away, letting the wind take them over.

"What's wrong?" She looks at him puzzled. The rhythm of her heart-beat gradually begins to pound loudly inside her chest.

"I'll never be as bright as those stars. I'll never be good enough. I failed college because I gave all my time to my passions and everything. I just couldn't focus, my heart and soul was just not there like it was back when I was in high school, the top-ranked student as well as president leader.." He looks at her, and then she gently grabs his chin to find those innocent, hazel eyes in tears.

"Don't say that. Look at all the stars we are watching! None of them are better than one another. They're  beautiful souls with big dreams, just like you," her fingers hover each star and lands on his delicate eyes.

"A star, with big dreams, huh? I don't know anymore about that, Emma. I rarely got a chance to give to my own childhood. I didn't finish my sketchbook, left my painting undone, instruments are sitting with dusts on the shelf, and my books have never got published! There could have been something. How can I be a doctor, remembering that I didn't live? I know you see this in me, but I just don't feel the same with it anymore. I did well in school, because I was determined to succeed. What if I can't make a living off of it?"

"Hey, we're all stars with big dreams, whether we have achieved them yet or not. We are all destined with a calling, and are here to do what is best for us. You didn't FINISH these art-work, sure, but who said it has to be left undone? You WERE an exceptional student, yeah. Who said, you still aren't smart? Yeah, maybe something was left inside you that you didn't give time to, and you want to still explore it. Then do it! Who said you can't do both? Yeah, you failed school, but it's because you soul was somewhere else..And you know what, it's better to succeed at what you love than fail at what you don't. YOU know what you want."

"No, you're right. I can go beyond what I just am. Maybe I can catch up with all my passions, and then go back to school, just in case I don't make a living out of music and art.. It's just so hard, how can I?" he shakes his head and a tear drops down. Her heart drops instantly.

"No stop, look you're a genius to me. You helped me get my Associates for crying out loud! If you want to get there where you're meant to again, just give it your all as you always do, and watch it happen! I feel like you can still be a doctor, write books, and do music. Hey, it's possible. You're already a role model to your peers," she beams.

"A role model!? Everyone knows I dropped out. Even if I'm a star, I don't shine half bright as those ones over there." He looks at me and then glances away.

"Will you stop that? Just look, give everything a little bit of time, and you'll see progress in no time. For one thing I know, I've been going through a lot in my life and you always brightened my life," she lays her head on his shoulder. Sometimes, it's about those that lift others up who are the stronger person, not those who just pop to the sky and watch everyone crying below."

"Which star am I then?" He asks. His heart starts to beat loudly inside his chest when he feels her sniffing away her tears next to his ear.

"Oh my gosh! Do you know how stars form?" She slaps his arm.

"Uh..no. And stop slapping me," he says irritably.

"There are giant interstellar clouds of gas and dust in the galaxy. It's pretty cold too, so what happens is that the wind compresses these gases and dusts in the cloud. A supernova comes in the way saying, WHADDUP. Anyways, the clouds collapse one another, and then gravity uses it's powerful force. Therefore, when they disintegrate, they become a pro- star. They shine after some serious battles."

"There's something missing there," He points out.

"Oh, the nuclear fusion?" she asks and finds him nodding.

"Wow," he stutters and his hands start to sweat. He feels a sudden warmth of light enter inside his heart. Could this be the formation of a star? She begins to giggle like the bells in Christmas day that comes across the streets and takes you out to dance.

"You're so beautiful" He smiles brighter than the stars, tears drying up on his eye-lashes.

"Me," She laughs a contagious laugh that makes him hug her, until they tirelessly fall on the grass staring at each other.

"You're more than these flaws. You are your dreams. Tonight is a memory, creating and shaping us. As for the future, it holds something if you believe in it." She kissed his cheek.

"W-what?" He inquisitively asked.

"You opened my eyes to these words."

And right then, there was no need for a kiss; their eyes already sparkled love to one another twinkling brighter than stars.
