Tobias's POV

'Come on, Tris it's late and... you don't look so good'

'No, To- I mean Fouuurrrrr! I'm fine!'

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tris was ranked first. I was so proud of her, she deserved that spot more than any of the other initiates. She has truly changed, in a good way, since that day I pulled her the net. First jumper, Tris.
After the ranking were shown, Tris kissed me in front of everyone. I could see the surprised look on Christina and Will's face. Wide-eyed and gaping, Tris turns to them and starts, "What? Never seen affection in public?" She starts laughing and a few seconds after, I laugh too. Christina's eyes flicker between the two of us, eyes narrow. Will's expression doesn't change.
"I KNEW IT!" Christina squeals, "but why didn't you tell me?" Her expression changes from surprised and excited to suspicious. "I am your best friend, aren't I?" Tris only laughs and embraces her in a hug.
"You are my best friend, Christina! I, we, didn't tell anyone. So don't feel like I kept it only from you." She looks up at me when she says 'we'. "I didn't want anyone to think that I was ranked first only because I'm dating my instructor. That," she points at her name on the board, "was all me, Chris." Christina's eye are still narrowed at me and Tris. She taps her finger to her chin and hums.
"Hm, okay. I believe you," A giggle escapes her lips as she hugs Tris back. I sigh in relief. If Christina doesn't doubt us for moment that me and Tris are actually together because we love each other, i'm 100% no one will. Except for maybe people like Peter. But right now isn't the time to think about Peter, It's time to think about celebrating. They made into Dauntless and now is usually the part where Zeke throws a party.
Christina turns to me with a sly smile. "Why don't you and Will get to know each other a little better while I," she grabs, no yanks, Tris to her side. "And Tris, over here, go get ready. There is going to be a party tonight, I'm I right or what? I over heard Zeke talking with Shauna about a party tonight." She's not wrong. I just nod my head and give Tris a smile.
"Be careful with my Tris," I give Christina a look that children usually get when they're being lectured. "You've been warned." I laugh give Tris a quick peck on the lips before Christina can yank her away from me.
Soon enough, dauntless come piling into the room. The music begins playing and people begin drinking. I can feel the thumping bass all over my body. I scan the room looking for Tris. It's been over three hours since Christina stole her from me and forced me to talk with Will. It was some what awkward at first, but he's actually a pretty cool guy. I need more friends like Will, not too impulsive like Zeke, but not to sensitive either. Will and I talk for about an hour and then I headed off to help Zeke with the party even though he probably finished already.
I see Tris being hauled in by Christina. She looks like a lost puppy around all the dauntless. She's different from the rest. That's what makes her unique, and special. That's what make me love her so much. She's independent. Even though she's impulsive at times, she always finds a way to fix it. She's brave and selfless. Which she's taught me, aren't so different after all.
"Four!" Christina has to yell to be able to be heard over the loud music. I wave a hand in their direction. It's not until they get closer that I notice a difference in Tris's appearance. She's wearing a thin, but noticeable, line of black on her eyes. She's also wearing a light coat of mascara. Her heels aren't too tall, but tall enough so I could kiss her soft delicate lips without having to bend down too far. She has black long sleeve dress that stops right above her knees. It's tight on top but flows from her wait down. She looks absolutely stunning.
"You like it?" I look up at her beautiful face. She wears a soft smile. Christina did a good job. She didn't over do it, which I'm surprised. I expected to see a full make over, not that Tris needed one, but that's just how Christina is.
"I love it! Just like I love you." I say taking her back from Christina. I put my hands on the small of her her back and pull her as close as possible. I rest my forehead on hers and brush my lips against hers. I can tell she's blushing. For the moment I'm lost in her eyes and lips.
"Ahem, so I'm just gonna...uhh, go over there," Christina stutters and finds her way through the crowd, squealing like a little girl who just got a stuffed unicorn. I bend down a press my lips on hers, but not forcefully. She kisses me back almost instantly.
"Mhmmm," she hums against my lips and then pulls back. "So, why don't we get something to drink and find a seat? These heels are killing me!" She grabs her foot dramatically.
"Mhhokay," I say, still lost in her eyes, remembering the way her lips feel on mine. "Why don't I get us drinks while you find us a seat." She winks and walks off towards Christina. God! She knows how to-
"Hey Four!" Great! Here comes the trouble maker! I laugh to myself. "Where's your girlfriend?"
"You know?"
"Uh, yea. Christina is practically rambling on and on and on about how cute you two are and blah, blah, blah," I can't help but smile. Not that I care about what people think about Tris and I. "Tris is just sitting there looking have embarrassed half proud." I glance over my shoulder to see the exact scenario Zeke just described to me. Tris look so cute even when she's flustered. "Come on, everyone's dying to see you too together!" Zeke pushes me through the crowd and I find myself sitting between Tris and Christina.
Tris leans in closer to me and whispers in my ear, "I think...," she puts her hand on my thigh, squeezing it a little. "I'm drunk!" She bursts into laughter, slapping my leg.
We sit there laughing, telling stories, and drinking. The place is still full with people drinking and dancing. The clock soon hits 1am. "Come on, Tris it's late and... you don't look so good"
"No, To- I mean Fouuurrrrr! I'm fine!" She stands up, walking towards the beer cooler like a newborn giraffe. "Whoohoo!" She throws her hands up with one bottle in each hand.
I put my head in my hands. Here we go. "Come on Tris, I think that's enough for tonight." I walk over to her picking her up, knowing that's that only way I'll be able to get her back to the apartment. She shrieks in my ear once she's in my arms. "Tris, please!" She's kicking and and wailing in my arms. I nod to everyone else and silently say sorry.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Tobias! I told you I'm fine now!" She hits my chest playfully. I haven't put her down since we left, and now I'm fumbling with the keys trying to unlock the door. I reluctantly put her down and open the door for her. She stumbles all the way to the bed, taking off her heels. "Thank god!" She exclaims, throwing herself on the bed. "Tobias, why is your apartment so hot!"

A few minutes later I walk over to a sleeping Tris. She's in the same spot as before. Great! She did say she was hot, so I grab a pair of shorts and put them on her, trying not to wake her up. I take one of my shirts and put it on top of her dress first before taking the dress off of her. I carry her into bed and gently lay her under the covers. "No, it's too hot!" She whines and throws the tee shirt on the floor next to her. I let her be, and climb in to the covers next to her.

"Good night, Tris."

"Ahh night," she scoots closer to me. I put my hand over her bare back and fall asleep to her breathing.
