Chapter 4

Tris's POV

I walk over to where Uriah, Marlene, and Lynn are sitting. Uriah's picking a crumb from the corner of Marlene's lip and Lynn just stares at them in disgust. "You guys are gross!" She flings a piece of her muffin at Uriah.

"Hey! Look who it is! If it isn't the one and only Tris, the first jumper, AND first ranked," he completely ignores the fact that Lynn just threw food at him and gestures for me to sit.  "I heard you hit your head pretty bad, how are you?" Now I'm the one flinging food at him as he tries to dodge each piece of flying food. "Hey! Hey! What'd I do?!?" He puts his arms up in defense. 

"Shut up!" I grin and throw the wrapper of the muffin at him. He picks off muffin crumbs from his hair and pops them into his mouth. "EWWW! Uriah!" I squeal in unison with Lynn and Marlene.

"What? Don't want to waste a perfectly good muffin!" He shrugs and continues eating whatever he had been eating before I got there. I get my lunch and the four of us sit in silence as we eat our food. I see Tobias walk in and motion him to come sit with us, a large grin plastered on my face. I haven't been able to show him much affection in public, but now that everyone knows, I still get butterflies in my stomach each time. I haven't seen him since this morning and he wears his usual black tee with jeans. He look sleepy, still. I poke his cheek when he sits next to me.

"Can I help you?" His eyes flicker in my direction, my finger still on his face. I giggle.

"You're still asleep," I say matter-of-factly. I laugh again not being able to keep a straight face.

"Maybe if you would-" he cuts himself off by kissing me. It catches me off guard, but I soon melt into the kiss. "There we go! Now I'm awake." He grabs a muffin like he didn't do what he just did. My cheeks flushed.

"Awww! You guys are like the cutest couple ever! It's perfect!" Marlene squeals.

"You guys are gross too, and I thought stiffs didn't do that sorta thing" I see her lips curl slightly. I elbow her hard enough, but soft enough that she knows I'm joking.

Uriah makes some sort of groaning noise. "Babe, aren't we cute and perfect?" He slides one hand onto Marlene's waist and pulls her onto his lap. She blushes furiously, making her look like a plump tomato. Marlene is a beautiful girl. With her long, wavy, brown hair, beautiful face and body features, and not to mention her personality. She has it all. Marlene takes Uriah's face in her hands and their lips smash together. Lynn gags exaggeratedly.

"You guys disgust me," Lynn rolls her eyes. She gets up, taking her tray with her.

"To answer your question, yes!" Marlene throws her arms around Uriah's neck and kisses him one more time.

"Okay that's enough," I speak up after Tobias elbows me looking almost disgusted too. "You're gonna suck her the air out of her!" They break apart, panting at this point, and blush furiously. I laugh and so does Tobias. Marlene slides off his legs and straightens up, clearing her throat. Uriah does the same.

"So I heard you were getting some lately," I gape at Uriah. He only smirks.

"What the-" Tobias throws his half eaten muffin at him. The muffin him in the face, hard. "And no, you know I'm not like that." Uriah rubs his nose. Marlene tries to hold back a laugh unsuccessfully.

"Control your boyfriend please!" I kick Marlene's leg under the table.

"Uri! Stop omg!" She slaps his chest playfully. And thats how my afternoon goes, Uriah cracking inappropriate jokes, Tobias getting mad and then just laughing it off, and so on. Maybe I can get used to this life.
