(Marcus's letter to En)
Dear Invisible Girl,
I wanted to give you a handwritten letter for the things I want to tell you. Things that I want you to really remember. Things that I want you to go back to whenever you feel like being invisible or being insecure or being not enough.
Here goes.
Thank you for braving to message me that first day despite being shy. Thank you for sending another message despite being ignored. Thank you for the medicine kit. Thank you for accepting my apology. Thank you for the morning messages, quick lunch messages, night messages and all the goodnights. Thank you for keeping me company.
Thank you for saving me.
When I lost my Mom, it's hard to go on. I know that my friends are there for me but their concern couldn't get through. Maybe because we're too casual and that I always have them. Or maybe because, they are such döuches. Haha. But most probably, it's because they also didn't know how to tell me that I have them. And I am mourning too much to notice their sympathy. My Dad, who was supposed to give me the support I need, wasn't there emotionally.
And then, your message came.
I know that it's scary for you to take the initiative to talk to me or reach out to me. Hence, the dummy account. I know that you're not going to introduce yourself anytime soon. It's okay.
I won't ask too much from you 'immediately'. You saved me from the silence of the house and the constant reminder that I lost the one person I couldn't afford to lose. You make me get up every morning and make me sleep at night.
If there is magic, it is magic that even without knowing you personally, your words get through me. I feel and believe every word you say. Every awkward thing. Every sincere concern. Everything.
You make me look forward to tomorrow - to meeting you.
I know that I could be really persistent sometimes and that I might make you feel really awkward. But whatever happens, I want to ask you...
Please, don't just disappear.
I look forward to meeting you and talking to you in person.
- Marcus
