"Welcome to the Burrow," Ron said as he swung open the front door to his creaky and strange but full-of-character house.

He held the door open for me and I stepped in to a small living room bursting with mismatched furniture and red-headed people. They all turned to look at me, and I reached back for Ron's hand.

"This is y/n," he told the room full of people. "y/n, this is my family. Come on, I'll show you around."

A woman, the shortest of the bunch, with ruddy cheeks and a huge smile, stopped the two of us before we could leave the room. "Ronald, aren't you going to introduce us? I'm his mum. You can call me Mrs. Weasley. You must be tired from the trip here, y/n, dear. Come sit down and have some tea."

Ignoring Ron's protests (much to my amusement), she practically dragged me over to a table in the kitchen, sat me down, and bustled away to brew a fresh cup of tea, leaving him to take my trunk upstairs. I took the time to look around the room. Their kitchen was very different than my own. The dishes were doing themselves in the sink, the cupboards were overflowing with nick-knacks, and they had an amazing garden just in sight through a window in the corner. The best thing in the room, however, was a very strange grandfather clock that didn't seem to tell the time.

When I finally returned my gaze to the table, I jumped because I wasn't alone anymore. Two identical boys that looked very much like Ron but with more hair had taken the seats across from me.

"So," one said with a smirk, "You must be Ron's girlfriend."

I nodded shyly and blushed a bit.

"You know he's never had a girlfriend before?" The other added, "You'd best be gentle with him. He's a very sensitive boy."

"Yeah, he still sleeps with a stuffed animal. He's very sensitive about his lack of Quidditch skills. He's terrified of spiders. Oh, and if you mention his - "

Ron burst into the room, blushing a furious red. "Fred! George! Stop lying to y/n!"

"They weren't lies," the boys said in unison.

From across the room, Mrs. Weasley said, "Fred, George, leave your brother alone!"

The one on the left winked at me and said, "I'm Fred. That's my brother, George. It was a pleasure to meet you, y/n."

Without another word, the two of them left, and Ron took one of their empty seats, still blushing. "I can't believe they said that! I hate Fred and George sometimes! And they play the worst pranks - you might want to watch out after they get used to you."

I laughed. "Weren't they the ones who invented the Skiving Snackboxes? I thought they looked familiar."

Ron just rolled his eyes.

Mrs. Weasley returned to the table with two steaming mugs of tea, which Ron and I happily accepted. "Ron, have you seen Ginny?" Mrs. Weasley asked, "I think she and y/n would really get along."

Ron started to mumble something in response when a redheaded girl walked in to the kitchen. "Mum, did you say my name?"

Mrs. Weasley smiled and said, "y/n, this is Ginny. She is a year younger than Ron and you in school."

The girl, who was quite pretty, smiled at me, stole Ron's cup of tea from right in front of him, and took a big sip of it. "It's lovely to finally meet you. Ron's been talking about you nonstop."

Ron blushed yet again and attempted to snatch back his mug of tea.

"It's great to meet you as well," I said quietly.

"Hopefully I can get to know you better over the next few weeks," said Ginny. "If you ever want to play Quidditch, just let me know."

I smiled gratefully at her. She nodded and left the room, still carrying Ron's tea. He looked like he wanted to protest, but he just let her go.

"It's okay," I giggled, "We can share mine."

I handed him my mug and he took a sip. After Mrs. Weasley left the kitchen, I said, "Your family seems really nice."

"Yeah, right," Ron snorted. "They're so embarrassing."

"No, they're funny. And besides, you guys are adorable."

Ron scowled. "You haven't even met my dad yet. And I have three brothers that aren't home right now."

"I'm sure they're wonderful. It must run in the family."

Ron allowed himself a small smile at that comment. I laughed, kissed him lightly, and said, "Thank you again for inviting me. It's going to be an amazing summer."
