I held my boyfriends' hand as we strolled through the streets of Hogsmeade, admiring the beautiful Christmas lights and toy displays in the window. Snow fell lightly around us and our breath frosted in the air, but I didn't mind - I loved winter.

I laced my fingers through Neville's and leaned in closer to him as a frigid breeze blew through the air.

"You sure you don't want to go inside somewhere, y/n?" asked Neville, putting his arm around my waist gently.

I nodded. "Actually, I think I'm ready to head back up to Hogwarts. Ever since they installed that new curfew thing here, nothing's as fun, and I feel like You-Know-Who has people everywhere. Besides, it's getting late."

He agreed with me and we started walking up towards the castle. It was a long way, and I could tell Neville was freezing, but he still insisted that I wear his scarf.

As we wove our way through the snowdrifts, I couldn't help but admire the castle, which was beginning to light up, and the sky above us. The clouds had retreated to reveal the stars.

Neville read my mind and we stopped.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" he asked me.

"Yeah. It almost makes you forget about He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and the Carrows and Snape and all that. It's just so peaceful and quiet out here."

"I wish it could be like this all the time," Neville said, "With you and me and nothing to worry about."

I turned around to face him. "I love you, Neville. You know that, right? No matter what happens with this war, I love you."

"I love you too, y/n."
