"Daaaaaaaaddy where aaaaaaaaaaaare you?" Karra was playing hind'n'seek with Bruce. A strange sight if you knew him before Karra came around. "Daaaaaddy, come out, come out wherever you are!" she shouted through the mansion, running from room to room. This was the 11th round she had always found him he never found her. In the end they were both exhausted and collapsed on a chair in front of the TV. "That was fun." Karra said after minutes of news running. Bruce just kissed the top of her head and said nothing. On the news the Justice League had caught Brainiac Batman was on for only a brief minute or two but Karra saw it. "Daddy who is that?" She was pointing the Batman on TV.

"Which one?" He didn't want to introduce her to the world of crime so soon after getting her back but it was a reality.

"The black one that you don't see very well or hardly ever for that matter. Who is he, he's cool!"

Bruce wasn't too fond of already telling Karra about Batman but he knew sooner or later it would happen and better with him than without. "That is Gotham's own superhero Batman. No one really knows a whole lot about him. At least not as much as they know about the other superheros."

"I wish I could be like him," She gave a sigh and seamed to be weighted down by something unseen. Her face downtrodden by a knowledge unknown to Bruce.

"What's wrong Karra?" Bruce was viably concerned for his daughter.

Karra waited for a long moment before saying, "It's nothing, It doesn't matter now."

Bruce knew something was wrong, he always had the uncanny ability to know when someone was lying. "Karra," it was barely a whisper but she hear it.

At this point a picture of the entire Justice League was on the screen.

"Her," she said pointing, she didn't know names of most of the League major or minor hero.

"That's Black Canary, what about her?"

"I can do what she can, you know the Canary Cry. At the house they did that and made the cat do what she can. At first I didn't want it, but it is helpful, especially in a city like this with all the problems going on."

"Yes," That changed a lot she could be the next Team member or the next super villain prodigy. It was now or never to show her his other side. But first, "What else did they do?"

She readily relived the information, "After the unfreezing I was told I was the only to survive and the intruder took your body with him," she paused reliving the events that led up to her being her. "They trained me in a lot of martial arts and bowman-ship, that was kinda fun but then they wanted to do experimentation on me. At first I didn't want it but later it began to make sense so I let then do it. In the end it worked but for a while I was really sick. The cat had the same thing," She gave a chuckle and smiled, "I actually have my bow and a whole quiver of arrows in her. They basically make her into a min-closet for me. I ran away because they were bringing more people into there and doing it to them almost none of them survived, they wanted to do more to me to see what made me different than the others but I knew it would kill me in the process. So I took what I needed and fled the compound."

The story was unnerving to Bruce but it did make a lot of sense and fit with what he knew of the place. "Do they still have a name for themselves or did they do away with that?"

"No they don't have a name but before I left I heard them talking about something called Cadmus. They said that their funding was going up, by a lot."

Bruce got up he had to show her now or he never would. "Karra I want to show you something, you might recognize a little bit of it." He picked her up under her knees and around her neck. Like his parents did when he was young.

"Weeeee!" she yelled through the house as he swung her around and towards his study. "I remember that clock the compound had an exact replica of it. They told me that." She was still smiling bright as ever.

The comment really unnerved him, his grandfather make that clock by himself, and only his family has had it. No one has been in that room to take a picture of it or anything. That is another thing for another time, for now, "I have a surprise for you, how would you like to use the Canary Cry to help people?"

"Really, that would be awesome," she stopped for a moment the next words came out hesitantly, "Isn't that what the Justice League for?"

By now he had opened the secret door to the Batcave and the dark tunnel was visible to Karra.

"Cool where does that go?" She had already forgot her other question.

"Well come with me but you have to be really quite, OK?"

"OK!"

"The JL does take care of most of that, but they do recruit the younger kids with abilities, I think don't think Black Canary has a partner now maybe she will want someone to help her, but I think Batman will want you here more often." They had gotten to the end of the stairs and were looking down at the Batcave, all of it. The glass case of suites, the massive computer the Botmobile and -cycle and the other wonders he keeps in his 'basement.'

Karra was speechless, almost. "Is this... are you... Oh My Gosh." The last was an almost whisper.

"Karra, welcome to the Batcave."
