I didn't know a whole lot about Artemis' home life but after a while with her, Wally and her mom, I learned a lot. She and Wally really did like each other, but most people knew that. She also cared a lot about her mom, the few times she did end up talking about her other family it was with some surprising mixed emotions. Anger, fear, care, and, whenever the combination of Chesher, Roy and Lian Nguyen-Harper, love. The last one I learned was their son, occasionally she babysat. I didn't do a whole lot, mostly sat on the couch, watched what they did and how they interacted, she always invited me to eat with them. I accepted out of keeping my act up. Every other day she told Wally she had to go to work again, he didn't like it and always said stay safe. Even though they didn't tell me I knew where she was going to, the cave. The stuff you can learn by doing nothing... that's how I got out of the compound.

It was the fifth day I had stayed with Artimess, she was heading off to 'work' again, black jeans, long sleeve shirt and a large duffle slung over her shoulder. She kissed Wally goodbye and walked out the back door. I remembered something I had forgotten when I came with Artimess, Blurr.

Me, 'two birds one stone.' I followed her out, nobody saw me. Her mom was sleeping and Wally was doing homework on the table. Slipping through the long grass of her lawn I saw her fall from the fence. Looking through a crack I saw an ally behind the house and an old telephone box next to it. 'There is no way it's that easy.' it was she looked up and down the street a few times and walked in. The moment she shut the door I vaulted the fence and ran to it.

"-Tigress B 0 7"

I caught her just in time, I could hotwire this to register me as Darkness, that would work, but I'd have to get my uniform first, and alter it to the minor details that Kayla has. But I could do it. I jogged back to my little hotel and changed quickly, "Blurr, come!" I said quietly but fiercely. I could say that 'midnight' left her at the house and 'I' was taking care of her until 'she' came back. I've pretended to be people in the past I could do this again.

I ran back to the ally with Blurr on my heals. Making sure Wally -and anybody else- wasn't out I slipped into the box and, rewiring it, I register as Darkness.

I came 10 minutes later than Tigress, nonetheless, nobody was in this room. Quickly making my through I found what I needed, Nightwing's room was just down the next hall. He should have left the drive in there. I didn't really know what I would with it but somehow I knew I would need it, somehow, I hope, maybe.

Nobody was in the hall, I was trying to figure out where everyone was, regardless I kept going. I didn't hear any voices so I opened his door. There wasn't anything special about his room that made it any different from any other but the dresser and bedside table held nothing for me. I rummaged around in the closet and again came up with nothing, quickly I searched the rest of the room with Blurr keeping watch outside the door. Nothing. "Blurr, come." She came leaping in, "Find the drive girl, find it." She ran out the door and turned down the hall we came from. 'Well, there aren't too many places he could put it. She knows what I want.' That was another thing with the program at the Compound, she can understand me as well as if she was human, well, mostly.

I follow her through the mountain making sure there's nobody around. Blurr always waited for me right before the next turn in the hall, I saw a green something turn the corner in front of me. I ran after it to see who or what was there. I rounded the corner into the common room, the kitchen and living area were empty I looked around, 'the only people that wear green are Miss Martian, Lagoon Boy, Beast Boy, and Blue Beetle. It looked too much like cloth to be Blue Beetle, and Beast Boy wears red of which there was none, and it couldn't have been a tail. That left Miss M and Lagan, of those two only Miss M could have disappeared so fast. So at least one person was here, and I don't think she's in charge of the mission as a whole so where is Nightwing? I start looking around, Blurr is still waiting in front of the entrance to the training room. Hesitantly I followed, I waited listening for anything. 'They have to be around here somewhere.' Multitasking is a hard thing to do. The light wasn't on in the training room, I walked to the wall and flipped the switch.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARKNESS!" The shout made me jump, the whole team was there with a decent amount of the league including Superman. I didn't see D- Batman anywhere. I didn't want to say anything but I realized I was supposed to be Darkness, happy, cheery, bubbly, and Friendly. I was so going to be dead by the end of the night.

Me, "Oh my gosh guys! Thank you so much!" It wasn't hard to imitate her, we were twins after all. 'Maybe Miss M was trying to lead me here.'

Nightwing, "You're about as subtle as wally was, you didn't think we'd do nothing did you."

I smiled, 'I am so going to be dead in the next few hours.'

Everyone looked between the new arrivals and me.

Me, 'I amend my former thoughts, I'm going to be dead now.'

Batman, "What's going on?" he saw me, "Midnight?"

Fear, that's the only thing I could feel at the moment, fear.

Nightwing looked back at me, "On top of everything else you did, now you have to go and lie to all of us. I knew you were bad, but you just can't help piling more and more stuff on top can you." I knew where the other ways out of the mountain were I ran for the closest one. I didn't hear Nightwings 'get her' but I did hear Batman.

"Midnight! Come back here!"

Tears stung my eyes as I ran for my escape, 'The hell am I doing!' I thought to myself, 'you've killed people and your scared of a Bat's old trainee, AND YOU'RE CRYING!' I shook the tears away, 'I have to find that drive and get out, where are other places he would put it?' I racked my brain for ideas, finally, something stuck me, his base of operations. Bludhaven. I saw a door and ran to it, the door to the hanger, a way out of the cave, a way to a Zeta Tube, and, eventually, a way to Bludhaven.

Hi ya. How are you all? Do you like this? How's she gonna survive? Do you think she even will, or will Supes get to her? If that happens will Bats be able to stop him? Or am I making this way over-dramatic? Oh well,
