"Aaron! Where're we going?"
"Shut up! I'm going to show you something cool!" His harsh whispers in retort caused her to glower.
Aaron grabbed his younger sister's hand and dragged her behind a prickled berry bush.
"Ow, Aaron!"
"Shut it, Ariel!" The bush acted as a barrier to a beautiful small area consisting of damp, moss covered ground, and the rest enclosed by towering trees. In the middle, however, were small clay like figures. It reminded Ariel of a vague figure of Buddha.
"...You brought me out here to see some dumb toys of yours?!" Her voice was louder than he anticipated and he cringed.
"You stupid girl! Keep it quiet! Abba or Imah might hear us!" Ariel shoved her brother and as retaliation he punched her arm.
"These aren't some "dumb toys," they're magic!"
"Magic?"
"Yep. Watch this." He bent down to pick up one of the clay figures and instructed his sister to hold it and dug around his Toy Story backpack in the mean time for a small slip of paper with Hebrew on it.
"Who's are these?"
"They're Sabba's. He taught Abbah but he never learned, so he taught me instead!"
"What's the Hebrew on his head stand for?"
"Sabba said "truth" and if you erase the first symbol, it'll kill the little guy."
"Why?" Aaron shrugged.
"I forget but he said something about it turning to 'death.'"
He found the note, and ripped the statue from his sister's grasp. Aaron rolled it up neatly before setting the note into it's mouth. He settled the figure down on the soft ground, both siblings watched in amazement as a mystic white ring appeared around it. Once the mysterious circle was gone, the statue came to life. Ariel let out a small gasp.
"Is it alive?" She softly asked.
"I think so..."
Carved eyes looked to the small girl, then to her brother as they spoke.
"It is, Aaron!" His sister squealed and reached out to touch it.
"What should we name it?" She asked half dazed, too focused on the creature before her.
"Gladius!" He responded with gung ho, and the creature looked up at him once again.
Ariel poked it's stomach with a tad bit of force, the thing stumbling back slightly.
"Sorry." She giggled and tapped his head gently. "No, let's name him Piggy!"
"Piggy?" Her brother looked at her with a expression of ridiculousness.
"'Cause he's short and fat like a pig!"
Since there were many more golems his grandfather had gifted him with, he decided to let his sister have her way this once. "Fine, name him Piggy. But I'm naming the next one!"
Prodding him a bit more revealed that he wasn't fazed nor scared of human interaction. Ariel picked him up and let him crawl on her lap.
It climbed to only sit on her knee a few seconds later. She started petting Piggy, as if he were a simple house cat.
"Let's dress him up."
"You brought clothes, Aaron?"
More scouting into his messy bag to find the doll clothes. "Yep. I brought a few hats, and dresses, and an old camo coat that I took off of Captain Benny."
Aaron pulled out his fist full of clothes and set them down on the moss.
"Alright Piggy, what do you wanna wear?" He took the figure from Ariel's leg and sat him directly next to the clothing pile.
"It's okay, Piggy, pick something." When it moved, it moved with an unbelievable amount of slowness.
Three minutes passed when Piggy found something to wear. It was a small bunny hat their grandmother had made for one of Ariel's dolls. Thinking it was meant for his arm, he stuck his clay hand into the hat.
"No, no, Piggy! It goes on your head!" With mild assistance, Aaron made sure the hat sat snuggly on his head, blue polka-dotted rabbit ears tailing behind him.
"He's so cute already! I'll pick an outfit, and you can put him in the camo jacket, and finally, we'll put the red scarf around him!"
Aaron nodded, and followed Ariel's lead as she picked a daisy covered yellow dress, and he put the jacket on next, all the while Piggy completely submitted.
"He's adorable, Aaron!" He listened to his sister drag on about the figure as he draped the scarf around it's shoulders.
Ariel played with the golem for at least ten minutes and was interrupted when her brother groaned in frustration. "We should get home soon, Ariel. Imah and Abba might worry where we are."
He packed up the doll clothing again, his sister whining. "Can we at least take him home with us?"
"I don't know, Imah doesn't let us keep animals."
"But it's not an animal! It doesn't speak, or make a mess and he's our 'lil friend!" She stood up with Piggy cradled in her arms.
"Fine. But if she yells at us, you'll be the one taking the blame."
Her eyes lit up with excitement. "Of course, of course!"
They strolled out, Ariel protecting Piggy from the bush as they passed through.
"If Abba and Imah say yes, do you think they'll let us make another one?"
Aaron snorted. "Don't push our luck."A/N: This came out way later than I hoped. Nonetheless I had fun with this one, it was cute and golems are too. Abba, Imah, and Sabba mean, Dad, Mom, and Grandfather in Hebrew respectively. Upcoming oneshots may be more horror based, but anyways I hope you enjoyed! :D
