"Aldric?"
"Yes?"
"Write this down immediately." Aldric studied behind the two-way mirror at test subject 44A who was currently squeezing the blue ball between her palms.
"44A, can you now grab the red ball, please? The red ball." She looked around curiously for the mysterious voice that seemed to be coming from the metal plated sky, but slithered across the shiny white metallic floors to reach the object. She instead reached for the green one, and held it up with pride for the inexplicable voice to witness.
"This thing is goddamn stupid, why the director wants us to continue on with this project, I will never know."
"Maybe he sees potential in her?"
"Right. And I see potential in going on a date with Breen. Quit talking and record the results." Bia Cruz snapped back at her intern, visibly irked. Aldric on the other hand obediently complied, and began scribbling illegible notes onto a clipboard.
"No 44A, red." 44A gazed around once more, misinterpreting and picking up the blue toy again.
Bia threw her cup of coffee against the wall, the cup shattering and startling Aldric. The dark blend ran down the wall slowing over time and filling the room with the rich smell.
"I'm done, you can continue with that thing, but I sure as hell need a break before I snap. I'll get someone to clean the mess up, so don't worry about it." She stomped out, and he had no doubt she was going to complain to Director Adisa.
He walked down to the first floor of 44A's testing chamber to a giant, multiple layered steel door. Aldric took off his I.D and slid it into the electronic lock, the light turning green with confirmation and opening.
He stepped in and it shut behind him. He took two steps in when 44A noticed.
"Ally!"
She slid across the floor to greet him, swallowing Aldric in a hug that left him covered in a moist and sticky blue substance.
He grinned. "Wright, how are you?"
She nodded her head enthusiastically.
"That's great. Can you tell the difference between blue and red?" Aldric sounded as if he were talking to a small child, which he was considering Wright only had the mentality of a three year-old.
She sported a confused look and hesitantly picked up the blue ball.
"Perfect! You picked up the blue ball, now can you pick up the red ball?" His praise gave her determination. She studied the round objects before her, and after some mild concentration she finally picked up the red ball.
Aldric clapped happily, resembling a proud parent. "Very good! You're so smart, Wright."
Wright made a gurgling noise, something akin to a pleased sound.
Aldric sat in her chamber for the next two hours, observing her behaviors and just simply watching her as she played with the toddler toys they provided her with.
Above them, however, was Director Adisa and Bia Cruz.
"Ridiculous." Bia's sneer was an indication that she was the one who muttered the word.
"You're a rather sour individual, aren't you? I'm surprised your intern hasn't quit yet."
"You're no walk in the park either, asshole."
"Do you speak to your mother with that mouth?"
"Every goddamn day, director. Anyways, when are we going to get rid of it?"
"The boy or 44A?"
"Both if possible."
A malicious chuckle came from Adisa as they finished their scrutiny of the pair beneath them.A/N: Two stories two days in a row?! Witchcraft! Ah, this was fun to write. I might write about a monster that wasn't on the list. Ever heard of Elfen Lied? I might create a drabble for the Diclonius. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed! :D
